That would be great! Good job! But if you're under 13 when you join this site you have to ghet your parent's permission. So that makes it to where it is kind of safer. But that doesn't give them the ability to see what you are doing, set the time to hpw long you can be on at a time, etc.
My parents probably wouldn't know how to look at all of that stuff and would have a lot of trouble doing it. It might be the same for other member's parents too.
And it might be very difficult for Justin to set that up. There are a few ideas with this idea but it could be the beginning of something very similar. If this could be put in to use, that would be awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I agree, that way if we're being cyberbullied, or being the bully, or doing something innapropriate, or simply spending too much time, or even sneaking on, they can see, help, or put us on the right track.
I feel that this is not needed. If a parent wants a child to not be on the computer at a certain time, they can walk into the computer room and ask them to get off. It's simple. If a parent wants to see what a child is up to all they would need to do was ask their child to show them their recent posts and to let them look around the forum. Parental Controls would also make WI slower to load, and this may cause log in troubles. Interesting idea though. --Star

For members who are under the age of 13, Webkinz Insider sends the confirmation e-mail to their parents asking for parental permission for the child to join the site.
Members who are 13 years old or older don't have to have a parent's authorization to join WI.
I think any site that has young children involved must consider safety. I think WI is doing that as it pertains to the requirements for the site as mentioned above. Parental control starts in the home. Sites can do their job, but it is the responsibility of each parent to monitor, and create a safety zone for their kids that use the internet.
Thanks so much for reminding us that this is ultimately the parents' responsibility to supervise their children. WI already has lots of rules to ensure safety, but cannot tell parents how to raise their children. It is up to the individual members to make sure that they follow the rules, which are in place for their protection.
I firmly agree! I have children who are on WI (supervised) and appreciate these rules and agreements to make sure that everyone is free to feel safe on !
