haha. yeah, that's why it'd be optional. only the people who want to/know how to would be able to get that feature. and also if someone wanted to get that feature but they didn't know how to use it there would be some people who could make basic outlines/themes where you would just change the optional choices. html is very easy, css would be a tad bit harder but in my opinion they are both easy. (:
I like the idea, but I don't know if I would want it on WI.
I'm a complete fool when it comes to HTML/CSS. Well, mainly CSS, I know most of HTML. Still, I don't know enough to make a profile theme that would look any nicer than what WI already has. Plus, I've grown quite attached to my current profile. =)

Hm...that changes my opinion a little. Yes, if members could supply links and maybe there could be a few simple guides created - I don't see too many issues. I only think that some people would try to make their own codes, but have almost no experience, and it would turn out...well, not so pretty. I guess it would be their own choices to do that or not, but maybe there would be some test you'd have to pass in order to gain the feature?
But still, it seems like it wouldn't be able to work with vB. D=
Not many people are experienced with HTML or CSS. It could mess up the page if they made any mistakes. The pages wouldn't look right at all. (maybe to them, but maybe not to others and vice versa)
Sure, we could have shops experienced coders could open, but there would always be a few amateurs who'd try to do it themselves and screw it up.
I have little experience with HTML and virtually no CSS experience, I can barely make a basic table without messing up anything. I'm pretty sure a lot of members can relate to me.
I have to disagree.
That would probably happen. There would be a lot of pressure on shop owners, because, as experienced coders know, one little mis-spelling and your whole page can go wack! Plus, it would be hard with vBulletin, to code and stuff.
People can hide viruses in the coding, too. That's extremely easy to do if you know how to do it.
Yes-I was going to say that as well-there was an incident at our school about 2 years ago when we were doing a research project; for the project at school we were to reference a certain website, and even though it had no ads or anything, there turned out to be a virus in the format/coding of the website. This example just goes to show that it is very easy to make a website look "friendly", when in fact it is not.
Also, I think that it would just be easier for everyone to just choose their backgrounds and color designs-there is already a lot of leeway there.
