Of course! Even if someone did make a duplicate, they shouldn't get in "trouble" for it. Like someone shouldn't go along and say:
"HEY YOU COPIED MY THREAD! I'M REPORTING THIS!!!"

That's just unnecessary. A gentle reminder is enough, there's no need to make the thread owner feel bad, whether on purpose or not.

Yes I know what you mean. I left here for awhile and just came back. When I first joined in June 07 it was a diffrent place. I think it's because there are so many people here now and theards go up so fast. It's a great point though. Rep.

That's true, I'm sure WI was not the same place it was 2 years ago. But ... it says you joined in April '09 ... ?

I completely agree with you, there are repeated threads a lot.

Yeah, exactly. That's why I don't go on here much. There's so many threads and half of them are random or mindless. There's too many!

Sometimes I do see repeat threads, but perhaps a newer member will be creating the repeat and they may not have known about the first one, or maybe a member that never visits this part of the forum but thinks of a great idea that has already been posted would post a repeat thread. So maybe that's why there's repeat threads.

Thanks lemony But many times after I tell the person that I've already used the idea before, they just ignore my post. Makes me very mad, of course

Very good point However, like I said above, if the person doesn't do anything about it and doesn't even say a "Oh, I'm sorry, I really didn't see that!" then I think it's very rude of them to do so.

Thanks, Baby252!

Threads have definitely been going up fast these days- I'm glad you've stuck to WI all these years!

I think maybe her old account was deleted or she asked to create a new one, because sometimes people ask for their accounts to be deleted but realize they want to have an account at WI after all

I'm not really posting a lot here anymore, which is kind of sad because I used to post a lot here. Many of them are unneeded, and although reminders ARE needed, I think they should be original and not based on something that's already been posted before.

That IS a possibility. If a thread has been created on the same topic based off an original thread made at least a week ago, I think it's okay. But not if it's a day or two ago, you know? And we would definitely know if it was a new member because it would be obvious, but in many cases they're not new members

I don't know how much of that is true. I mean, Webkinz is the same for everyone, so there is no reosens people would norice the same stuff. And sites like this, they share news, and they don't say not to copy (mostly) so people can copy each other, but that might result in thier thread being deleted by an admin. So yeah, they kinda are, but we can only blamed no one.

Thanks, WEBKINZBOY!

I was mostly talking about threads in this section- WI Rules & Suggestions. If you've been following threads here, you would have noticed the increase in repeated threads about courtesy and things like that. Originality counts big in this section, which is why I brought it up However, that is true of the other sections
