I agree that the e-store should have its own section for members to discuss items bought, satisfaction with each item, updates, etc.
Recent events have turned the tide in favor of the e-store - virtual pets (all of which I have loved), Halloween specials (I'm new so I don't know if they had this last year - but I don't think so) with costumes (anyone else notice they changed the picture of the pharaoh costume today?), and now the charms are being sold as well (I heard they are getting rid of the real charms).
It would be great for all of us to discuss the e-store in a separate section, similar to how the vacation spot has its own section.
I didn't care for the estore so didn't check it out. I wanted to hold any pet I bought, but in thinking thinking it over, I changed my mind because I play with the virtual pets way more than the real ones. And I needed charms. The virtual pets don't take up any space in the house and run around and play more than the cute real ones. We can all either accept it or ignore it and get on with our playing.
Hey SweetsMom and Exoteric -I think this is a Great Suggestion!
It's only because of members here showing off their purchases that helped me decide if I wanted something. Almost eveytime I've visited the estore was because of either the front page news here or a thread one of my kids stumbled upon.
You may hear me gripe about the price every now and then (I think 8 or 9 dollars would be more resonable for the virtual pets since Ganz doesn't have to physically make the estore ones) but I can't resist buying from there none the less. I applaud the members who won't cave and go there I wish I had the will power but this is my oniy vice.
I also agree a special section is needed for the E store....I love it,am retired and hooked (obsessed ) with webkinz....I have smothered my grandchildren with the plushies and figures,,,they love them and I do have 11 grandchildren...so that helps.I have refrained from posting what I buy and adore from the e-store..trying to be sensitive to those who for whatever reason do not shop there....I would really enjoy being able to share and talk about my favorites..okok it is the Butterfly tree... Now I can no longer say I did not post about it..LOL....I love WebKinz!!!!!!!!
I didn't even know about your thread when I suggested a separate section for estore.
They really need a place to vent that is not the general discussion area. When they get posted there in the general area, big arguments have started and names have been called. There needs to be some sort of anti-estore section so that those who want to vent together can and then those who enjoy the estore don't even have to see these post to feel like they have to defend themselves.
That it what it comes down to. The anti-estore people have different reasons for not using the estore. Lack of money, principles, and a few other I have seen. They feel cheated that all the nicely detailed and well thought out items are going to the estore and they feel that Ganz does not care about them or their KinzCash. I get their argument.
However, when they express their opionion, the people who chose to spend their money in estore feel insulted and they feel the need to defend themselves or at least say that it is their hard earned dollars that they chose to spend on estore instead of other luxury items like fancy clothes or vices. Then the back and forth begins.
I do buy items from the estore sometimes. I have tried to defend my purchases. I have tried to explain my rationale. I have tried to be positive. Now I am at the point that I don't have the energy to keep going with this great debate. I think that there needs to be two seperate corners.
I do not know if the powers that be will read this but this really needs to be addressed.
I buy and play Webkinz because I enjoy it. It is a good stress reliever and escape from reality for me and I am an adult, there are a lot of other choices that I could make, but I chose Webkinz. I found WI and now it enhances that enjoyment with their solid reporting of webkinz related news, helpful threads, and great people that become great friends.
I will admit that if you look through my post history that I complained about the room and pet naming changes, but you will also find that I came to terms with it and found a crafty way around it. I guess I realized that I am not thoroughly enjoying my chosen hobby if I get irritated all the time. I have a positive outlook on life now, and oddly enough most of it comes from my Webkinz and WI friends. I am saddened by the large amount of complaints about WW. I thought this was a WW fan site, where those of us who enjoy webkinz get on here and share that. Maybe there should be a section at the bottom of the forum, under the social section, for complaints. That way if you do not want to be "bummed out", then you don't have to go there. That is what these negative threads have started doing. They make me feel bad for actually liking Webkinz and playing the way I chose to play.
One of the more recent threads complained that there were too many "I like Ganz threads". I think that is funny in a sad way. I am not defending them. They are a company. They can take care of themselves. However, without them we would not have any of this. They have made alot of new activities, new wshop items, and a new rare theme. I think they are trying, but they are not perfect and yes they are trying to make as much money as they can. That is how the world works, but they are providing a very high quality product. If they didn't they would not be where they are today.
Ok thank you for reading my million word essay, I could go on, but I won't (for now).
