I am completely for equality, but I don't think this would cause to much of a problem. If the members were treated the same by the staff, and they had the same rules, it would be equal. People on here are not treated completely equal by their peers on here already, so I don't see it being all too big of a deal. Good thinking though!
I like the idea! You could get like a badge under your username if you won or something. Maybe you could have a nomination process like 1 member has to go through trouble to nominate you and like several members have to agree that you would be a good choice. All the people who meet the requirements and have had people go through the trouble to nominate them would be considered and then voted on by the staff. They could choose 5 or many only 1 winner. There could be a rule you could only win once a year. That is my suggestion!
The overall idea is GREAT! I'm a member of a website that does MOTM, but the website is very small. The thing is, people would get jealous, and quit, over a silly award. And, people would start accusing mods of picking favorites...
