I agree with you. There's this one girl that I think might be totally stalking pandaXoXham and I. It's really annoying!

This is excellent advice. I can not stress internet safety enough when it comes to my children. I have someone very close to my family tricked by a cyber stalker. For all of us adults too we should be more careful about what we say and how we say it. If a stalker is truly interested in you he/she wont have to look back at your posts to already know the info you put into your posts. He will remember them or write them down. Making the previous posts private is an extra measure for those stalkers that find you interesting and want to go back and get to know you better. Either way be careful in everything you write everywhere.

Reps to you!

I understand the thinking behind this, but I think there are advantages to being able to look at a members previous posts. Especially when it comes to the GE. It's very helpful when trading to be able to look and see when someone last posted. And even to read some of their posts to see what kind of trader they will be. I like to do my trading fairly quickly, so if I look at someone's old posts to see their trades and I see that they have a habit of starting a trade and then not coming back to finish it in a reasonable time then I stress to them that I need to hear from them in a certain amount of time or I will assume they are no longer interested. Also, if someone asks to offer and I say go ahead and offer and then don't hear from them for a couple of days then I can check to see when they last posted. If they haven't posted in that time period I can give them some more time, but if they've posted a whole bunch and just haven't bothered to get back to me, then I would PM them asking them to check my GE and post a note on my GE letting them know that they've missed their chance and I'm letting someone else offer on the item.

I think it's a much better rule to NEVER give out any personal information and then you won't have to worry about people reading your other posts. If you can't see the posts, then some people might get careless about it and think "oh well, it doesn't matter what I say because people can't look at my other posts anyway". And then they start giving out too much information because they think they're safe anyway.

It's a much better rule to NEVER, NEVER give out any personal information. And if you see a post that may say too much about where a person is from, their age, or anything else that others shouldn't know about, then flag it for a mod and put in the note that you're concerned about the personal information in the post.

Ohmigod, that's freaky. That is so true.

I think that at this point it's impossible not to make it private, considering how well you proved it. I don't know whether I can give rep yet, but even if this doesn't change, everyone who read this will be a lot more careful about what they post. Thank you SO much for bring this up.
