I agree, kindness is number one. Supportive is another...someone is thrilled with a new Webby....comment on it...be happy for another's achievement. We can never really know how what we say, can impact someone else.
I think, making a mark will just kind of happen naturally. Just always be nice and caring like Dana said, and one day, without realizing it, you may do something extraordinary, that just feels natural.
You don't have to make history, or be top poster or anything, just do lots of small things, and they will add up to be BIG!
Another thing is, you do not have to make your mark on the whole forum. You could make a mark on one person. One time, someone wrote me the nicest PM ever!!! That was the way I remember her. So, you can make your mark on one person, and it will be suffice, at least to me it would be, because to them, it was a big deal.
Another way would be to do something really bad... but I don't advise it.
Yes, lots of people make their mark by doing something really, really good. Danathorn writes really cool songs!! Tamster is a legendary trader. Carguy posts all over the GE! People will get to know you by watching you post, trading with you, and being kind and helpful.
