Lately, I've been noticing a lot of ads on WI about Viruses, Out-of-date Software, free Anti-Virus check, etc, which all lead to scam sites.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed these...
I'm hoping Justin can work at removing them, so people won't believe them and get scammed, or viruses, from them...
I was going to just report them directly to Justin, but I've noticed atleast 5 different kinds, so I'm assuming others have seen some of them as well, so we can make a list of them all for him.
Also, just wanted to remind everyone that if you ever see an ad for something for free, or with Virus information (either saying they'll give you a free scan, or that you have a virus) as an ad on WI, do NOT believe it or click it.
If you think you might have a virus, run your actual anti-virus from your computer, not an online ad.
That's one of the main reasons that I had to get that Insider Insider subscription.. because I kept getting those warnings on WI. (nowhere else) You are right, people should never click on those pop up warnings. Don't even X out of them. Either turn off your computer by holding down the power switch or do the 'control alt delete' buttons and start task manager and close all running programs. Then run a scan.
I've noticed a few too! They're a big target for younger kids or even older people. Hopefully Justin can somehow put them to a stop. It's really unfortunate that people can get really bad viruses just from a simple click.
