I've noticed on some other sites that for people's posts you can "like" the post by click a button that says something like "you like this"
i thought this would be cool on WI and i don't see anything wrong with the idea (yet)
so what do you, the people of WI think?
I like (LOL) this idea. I mean, yeah, we have thread ratings, but I really dislike those - because they're anonymous, so people always take advantage of it. But like buttons, where you can see who liked it, would be a great idea.
Yeah, totally! This is suuuch a cool idea! It would be way better than those thread star rating thingies. It would be great to see who liked it as well! Just try not to put a dislike button. That may hurt people`s feelings!
Great idea.. I don't like the ratings thing because many people forget about them. It doesn't exactly tell how good a post/thread is, only shows an 'over-all' rating from some of the raters. Once you like a post, or even before you a like a post, you could see how many users also liked that post.
WI already has systems for "liking" posts. There is the most popular way, which is to leave reputation for the member. There is also the less common way, which is leaving WI bucks for that member. I don't think a separate "like" button is necessary, as the reputation button basically serves the exact same purpose.
