Default Let us know when a thread is closed...ahead of time. (This probably doesn't say what you think )

Okay, so I was typing a pretty long reply to explain my thoughts on something and Presto! That thread is no longer available. It says invalid link or something when I press post. This has happened a few times, and it frankly sort of bothers me. If it can't be done, I completely understand.
But if you could, please when a thread is closed, don't allow us to type anymore. I put alot of thought into my posts and I know others do to, and don't like their hard work being erased. It's like typing a essay and your computer breaking down.
Thanks!

I agree, it's really annoying when you just typed 3 paragraphs trying to help someone, and then something happens and it all gets erased.

I'm sorry, but the system doesn't have any way of knowing that you are posting to a thread until you click "post". All of the typing you are doing is happening on your computer.
