I think that there should be an auction section, where
people could auction off there items! People would bid
there items on what it up for auction! It would be tons of fun!
I think that Auctioning off items is better than just plain old
trading, but thats my opinion!
Thank you for reading! =]
Auctioning is strictly against WI GE rules as it is against the fundamentals of fair trading - smitchell

Isn't that exactly what the WIGEV and GE rules are designed to stop - people paying exorbitant or incredibly low prices for items?
Sometimes I think it would be neat to see what you could get if you just throw an item out there and people were free to go hog-wild... buuttttt how many would come to regret either auctioning an item off, or bidding on an auctioned item? I'd be peeved if I paid 40k for saaaay, a blue lava. And then a week later saw one on a GE at the actual WIGEV value.
And having auctions could ruin the GE and make the WIGEV irrelevant. Who would trade a blue lava for 15000 in the GE, when they could save it for auction and get 40,000? No one would be able to get a blue lava in the GE anymore... and so it's WIGEV value wouldn't really matter.
I think it would wreak havoc on the site, and ruin all the things we love about the GE.

That is a somewhat good idea, I believe, but I would hate for someone to backout of an Auction I entered in.
I don't think it's a great idea, nor a bad one, but you should see what the moderators and admins think.
I think this could be a good idea but at the same time I can easily seeing it back fire. If someone puts up an item and auctions it off people are going to put up there best items and it may not always be a fair trade. I think this is why we have the gift exchange to prevent trades that are not fair. I could see the auction thing working out sometimes and not others. Know what I mean. I guess if there was a rule to go by like it has to be equal or close to the item up for auctions value then it could work.
Here's my opinion about it... I like an auction as much as enyone does. But I've had personal experiences. Where someone hacked and account, and kept auctioning off the hacked items. I do this this ios a little safe. However, we do not want our members to get hurt in any way. A auction is where the highest bidder gets the items(s). Which is why I don't think is fair... because if the person doesn't like that itm, they will HAVE to give it away because the value is fair, and/or it is the highest bid. I will flag this, to make sure a Staff member sees it. However, I am still uncertain about this. We will have to see and wait what the Staff says. ~beachrox
