Default Introducing. . . Cara's Advice Thread

Welcome to. . . Cara's Advice Thread! I'm Cara, your advice pal and your question answerer.
If you have a question, submit it to me in the form of a P.M. The title should read:

Cara's Advice Thread Question

I won't respond to the P.M., but I might feature your question using an announymus name. So ask away! The first question I have received was this:

Dear Cara,
I don't know how to stay active during the holidays. Can you give me ideas?
I Need Excersise!

Dear I Need Excersise,
Many people have the exact same problem. Now is a great time to get a membership at a Gym Club. Many gyms offer bring a friend programs, and your friend could sign up to excersise with you and keep you motivated. If you aren't open to that, try working out at home. Playing in the snow with your kids, shoveling smow off the porch, and offering to walk your neighbor's dogs are great ways to be outdoors and get active. If you don't like spending time outside, try buying a few excersise tapes, some weights, and a nice stretchy outfit. Work out to music, the DVD, or with a friend. Last, if you don't like vigorous activity, try helping out around the house. Running errands, cleaning out that messy closet, or cooking some healthy food can be tiring, but it's a good way to get in some excersise. I hope this helps!
