Both of these are great points and I agree, however I am not totally convinced that just because a thread has not been posted on that it is because members are ignoring it... I think a lot of it depends on if it is even seen or not. Perhaps I do not understand the system well, but I think the more popular a thread is there is a more likelihood that it will stay at the top of the thread chain. I will admit there are times when I have opened a thread that I thought I could help or contribute in some way that I would leave without posting for the following reasons:

It was not what I thought it was judging by the title and I can not help or contribute in anyway
However, the major reason I do not post on a thread is it has turned into an argument that I just do not wish to participate in.
