Default I Have Noticed...

I have noticed that some people write in this red ink and this blue ink (on threads and in posts) even though that is one of the most heard of rules on WI... They also use red a blue ink in their signature (not like on pics or text generators) Why do people do that? It is a basic rule here on WI.
I think that if people are warned not to write in red or blue ink they should get a temporary ban or something like that. (I'm not trying to be mean)
P.S Please don't write in red or blue ink. I always think a Moderator or an Administrator is typing.

From what I've heard, it's only a certain blue and a certain red that you shouldn't use. Some people may not know the rule. I also read once that it's ok to have those colors in your signature.

It's ok to have red and blue in your siggie. And they might be using this: red this blue this blue this blue. And so on.

No it's not OK to have mod blue or admin red in your siggie, a small bit will be tolerated but not a lot. However, a temporary ban would be a bit harsh as punishment. A friendly reminder is more like it.

Default Re: I Have Noticed...

Great thread, but its okay in your siggy. But like Webberlily said, only a bit. Also,if the person is just using it,for like a sentence, then its okay. I know that in a lot of avvie/siggy shops, people might type something like this PLEASE! FOLLOW THE RULES! Just so it stands out. But I do see your point and I think you mean entire posts in red and blue.
Anyways,great thread!

Actually no, because we leave messages like this one when we have to edit something and if you post in a sentence in that color it looks like a Mod wrote it.

It's ok if you use a little bit in your siggy but not a lot.
And remember not to type posts in those colors either.

Default Re: I Have Noticed...

I think banning would be rather harsh, just becuase someone used an incorrect font color. Maybe a reminder to the FAQ's or rules would do the trick. If the problem persisted by a chronic rule breaker then further steps could be taken.

At this time I would like to address the use of the lighter colors that are available for use. I have a lot ot trouble reading anything that is written in all of the light colors. I know that if you glide your mouse over the post then it comes to life with a readable font color, but I feel this way, if what you have to say is important enough to write, then why would you take the chance that someone will glide their mouse over it to read it?

Because the lighter colors trigger a headache for me, I don't mouse over, I just pass over and not read the post. (Just writing the above has sent me for aspirin.) I know that I may be missing some enlightening or important information but because of eyesight problems, it is something that I have no choice in.

Sometimes you have to compromise for the sake of humanity.
