It's not so much to do with them knowing what twilight is, it is reading things that are not age apropriate. The books are geard towards teens I'm assuming so I don't think that the stories should be on here either. Sorry guys I'm sure you all enjoyed reading and writing them.
I think all these points about the topic make sense. I think it must be hard to figure out what to do because WI ranges from 7 year olds, basically to grandparents! Parents want a safe haven for their kids to hang out, and teens (similar to me, and possibly younger) basically want a fun place to talk to people about things they like... like twilight! It certainly is a challenge to make all the webkinz world lovers happy. Hopefully there will be a way to make it safe and fun for everyone.
If you do not have a 6-7 year old you have no idea what they understand. The way they are teaching kids in school now is amazing. My daughter not only knows what an email addy is has her own on a kid safe site. They do internet in computer class and they are even started mandatory spanish classes this year starting in Kindergarten. Kids are smarter than alot of adults give them credit for.

Wow! They are learning alot more in the school your daughter goes to then the schools where i live.
My mom runs a daycare so i know what the 6 and 7 year olds know (or don't know) and even thought the 2 oldest (5-9 range) know what an e-mail and WI but they can't read it enough to understand what it is or how it works.

true true. But do you think that the 6 or 7 year olds will make the account themselves? they proabally don't even know what an e-mail is. The parents will make it for them.
I know for a FACT that we have users as young as 6 and 7 years old on here! I have had to flag their posts because being as young as they are, they have included their ages in their posts. YES, they do know how to read. My children were reading and comprehending at the ages of 5 and 6, quite well. Two of them were writing stories by the time they were 7 years old. Home-schooled children (and there are a LOT of them on here) are often more advanced in their academic skills because there is someone to offer that one-on-one that you don't get in Public schools.
I can't agree with you, I am sorry.
We have asked about 'locked forums' before and the answer is generally a resounding no. Because a person is not required to prove their age when they make an account on there is no way to prove they are the age they say they are.
However, this may be hard to do. Blocking certain things can be hard. Maybe add a block button to threads and a parent is able to manage their child's account and every day, they can block any threads that seem inapropriate to their child.
You see, in some families (including those with kids our age) think Twilight ,and the other books, are inappropriate. Plus, making something like what you were talking about would take time when Justin and Wendy could be working on more forum sections, making WI more secure, etc.
If you like Twilight you could make a Twilight forum or join one!
REP to you! You had an idea with good intentions and the suggestion really makes you think!
