Its a good idea, but I don't think it would work. Some members don't need to be 'trained', but maybe a few do. Even if they do, if they post in the help section and you respond, a lot of the time (this is my experience) they will ask you the next question, and not post a thread. So those people are sort of already 'trainers' . And, of course, almost everything they need is around the forum already .
This is a good idea, and I will give you rep for it. But, recently another person has suggested the same thing, and the staff said that it would be too much work, and we all have to agree. No one can even imagine the work and time if would take for WI to have a new member training section and a GT section. Great Idea, but it is most likely too much work.
That was my thread, I believe. If I can find the link I can show you the post cows4you made. :-/
I think this is a very lovely idea... however, I always thought of the community here in WI as a whole as the "forum trainers".... Everyone who's been around for a while, and who knows the ropes has it in them to help the newer members along, show them guidance, offer gentle corrections where mistakes have been made, answer questions and show support. In my experience, the WI members as a whole are already doing this to help the newer members along, and it doesn't seem like we need to designate a ton of people to be trainers for this. Perhaps a thread could be created, in place of trainers, where newer members can go specifically to ask for guidance, and some older members can check in there and offer help when they can. :-) Great idea, though.
