HOWEVER, ON THE OTHER HAND, ALTHOUGH, all those contradicting words inserted ehre.... if you read another's convos for bad reasons, to taunt them later, if you don't like that person and want a reason to report etc, that's wrong, that is blackmail which I do not think is allowed.
Thanks for your opinion, icecube! I don't think blackmail should be allowed either.

Gret Suggustion DL! It bugs me when I find messages from users whom have viewed my convo with one of my buddies, to ask questions or comment. I don't like to use PMs often for short messages, but I will if it needs it. Anyways, I really like your idea, it might be a good suggustion for those who have read in on other convos.

I agree with that. I have read conversations just out of curiosity, nothing more. I find it interesting to learn about other people on a site where it is very difficult to really get to know them. In my opinion and in my own experience, I find that a person's personality shines through in their writing ability. So, I guess reading a conversation between a friend and someone else helps me glean WHO they are without having to really know who they are in real life.

I get what you're saying here, and rep for speaking out against something you don't like, but if you want something to be private, like you and a friend are talking about other members, you might want to PM so you don't upset anyone. I hope that Worst Webkinz Names thread got closed, because I would be so hurt if I saw my pets names on that thread. It was a terrible idea and I feel that the member should have been banned for posting such a rude idea. If you don't like a pet's name, tell a friend through PM, don't start a whole thread about it! It's rude and completely unnecessary. I distinctly recall posting all of her pets' names to let her know how it feels to be ridiculed publicly to an entire website. Basically, if you don't have something nice to say that you would say to EVERY SINGLE USER ON THIS SITE, PM to one or two people. That way people won't get into fights and the whole world will be at peace.

The whole idea is that it is a PUBLIC profile, it even says so when you click on the name...'View Public Profile.' Just don't put anything on that profile that you don't want others to see.
It is the same thing as if you send a postcard. If you don't want other people reading your mail, then don't send a [postcard, put it in a secure envelope.
In this case...a Private message.
My thoughts exactly. And I'll be honest, I read my BFFs messages on her profile sometimes. But she does the same to me, so it's okay. And if I don't want the whole world to know, I PM someone.

Be careful what you say.
If it's:
"Oh great *First Name* I'll meet you at *Time* at *Location*"
and in an earlier one
"Have you heard about *Something*? It's at *Location* which is right near my house!"

Even though ONE message might not show where you live, someone can figure out where you live by what you've posted even years ago. Even the laws of etiquette cannot keep predators or curious people from reading your conversations, and even if it's PM, it's online, and other people can read it if they try.
Be REALLY SUPER ULTRA careful.

Its never occurred to me to do anything of the sort. However, this is a public forum, and if you wish to have privacy you should not use this site for your conversations.
