There are two sides to this arguement. The one side is that I do agree that sometimes you just want to say "hi" or "nice" instead of " hi .....(WI name)" or "That is really nice". But the other side of it is that if someone was to just get a "nice" or something simple like that, they could end up taking it the wrong way. Like I said, two sides to this. But I do like the more than 10 letter post thing.

Yes, you won't get gifted by doing that all the time, but there's more to it that that. By posting more, you are reaching out to others and you may make a friend in the process.

When people start doing that whole "Wow" thing, I tend to think they are just trying to boost their post count, and the thread they posted in was a way to do it, therefore, they don't mean anything by what they posted. That's not what WI is for, as far as I'm concerned. I have met a lot of really nice people on here, and I think for it to stay the caring community that it is, we need that 10 letter rule in place.
Mmm-hmm! What you say is 110% true! Yeah, and I don't like it when people just try to make their post count bigger.

Like WI Thumper says,

If you don't have anything good to post, don't post at all."

Yes, WI Thumper is correct! There are a lot of threads that I see where someone will ask for help and you see something like "I don't know" or "I can't help you". If you can't help, why did you post??

I just don't understand that, or the whole "Good Job!" thing. This whole things boils down to post count and people trying to get out there and post in every thread, which is probably one reason why the 10 letter rule is in place, so you have to say more. It would be iinteresting to see what would happen if it weren't in place, but then it would get out of control and you would see a lot more of "OK" and "Yes!" and stuff like that. I think that would drive me up the wall.

Even talking about the whole gifted thing, I cannot imagine what would happen if you could post "OK" and you applied to be Gifted and had a lot of posts like that, even with other good posts. The whole process would be longer and more people would be wondering why they weren't getting accepted sooner.
