An epiphany of sorts "Ohhh... THAT'S why it took 30 seconds when I logged in..."
Basically, when you log in I assume (as my understanding of computer systems is deep, but of the software itself, I admit limited) that everything on your account is stored in a database. When you log in, it must load what's "currently" available to you. That would be your Kinz Cash, your current pet's health and happiness, and... your dock. So, if you have 2,000 items in your dock, the server must retrieve all 2,000 items and then load them to your session so that they can be available to you when you scroll through it. When you go to a different area, say the Arcade or your room, it sort of "reloads" and has to "reload" your dock each time.
Now, if you instead store the stuff in your rooms, it will load your dock of, say 78 items each time. When you go into your house, the system will only have to load each room's contents each time. When you change rooms, it loads the contents of that particular room, not the whole house. So, with this requirement, they are placing much less load on the servers by splitting up all of your belongings. Hope that helps explain it a bit... Or atleast my understanding of it.}}}
I just read this on the Account Closed - Closed Post. It is an excellent explanation why we should keep our docks clean. I now try to only keep my coupons and coins, if possible.
Thank you for reposting Justins post..I guess I missed it the first time..we are under 100 items and honestly I havent experienced that many glitches, so it must help. I do hope many will read this..anyone who doesnt have a room storage or 2 in their home should simply buy one and store any items in their dock in a storage room..any farm fresh food..sell it and take the kc
Hey kandym! I have also cleaned out my dock. It made the computer faster. Those are excellent reasons why cleaning out your dock is the best way to go. Justin is correct and so are you! Happy Cleaning!
