No, I don't think you can check the codes without actually entering them. That being said, don't be fearful about your no "W" webkinz. I have dealt with and have seen many no W's --
Not all No W's have the blue ribbon that secures the tag. In fact, for those that don't know --
(not that I am an expert) I have what I believe to be ALL the gold and white cats.
first version is : webkinz code tag in vertical slip cover, just plastic fasteners holding the tag.
also "OPEN ME" sticker on front of plastic cover. I am told these are the first ones ever!
second version is: webkinz code tag in horizontal slip cover, white fastener holding the tag to animal plus plastic fastners holding the tag. With OPEN ME STICKER on front of plastic cover.
third version is: SAME as above, but no OPEN ME sticker, but the TAG now has it printed on the
actually code tag paper.
fourth version is: SAME as above, but the more recent code tag paper and the blue ribbon attaching to the plush toy (like the ones we all see right now)
fifth version is: the most recent one with the blue ribbon and the MAGIC W on the paw.
Was that clear?
So I wouldn't be freaked out it didn't have the blue ribbon as the first produced ones didn't use the current blue ribbon that GANZ uses to attach the tag to the body of the animal.
