Maybe it is the English teacher in me, but I definitely like the "tenletterrule." When I was really new to WI, people really took the time to write answer and really answer my questions and make me feel welcome. I appreciate every bit of it. I make a point to answer anyone with a question with enough information to be helpful and try to welcome everyone to WI.

By the way, I must tell volleyuup that I just LOVE your picture. What a cute puppy! We have many of our own and do constant rescue work. That is just so cute.

This is a great thread.
I am new here and am still getting to know all the rules and things, but it just makes sense to say something friendly and relative to whatever post you are responding to.
Everyone likes to share their good news and their frustrations. Getting input from others both validates our feelings and experiences (it lets us know there are others who are interested in us) and it gives us the opportunity to get another perspective (which somethimes we need). We already are all here because we have something in common, Webkinz, and this reminds us we have other things in common also.
Thanks!

Posting should be more that a number.. don't be worried about posting to get more stars or anything like that... You are right, we need to be sincere when we post because , i don't know about you... but I can tell when the "congrats on __" are heartfelt and when they are just to post

What a great post

I too feel that the ten letter rule is a great rule. Without it, all people might be posted would be "hi" or "awesome" or even "cool". I think that these posts are just plain wasteful, they don't really help the person, and there is more to posting genuine responses than just being polite. It's the genuine posts that create friendships, they make it so the person who made the thread knows you really care. WI was built on friendships, was it not? I also think text speak seems kind of rude and almost like you don't care. If you're going to post, you might as well write out full words!

I'm not saying I'm not at fault here, I've had my fair share of "omg!!!" 's and "hi" 's. This is a nice wake-up call for me and all WI members to just be genuine. So thanks for posting this.

Wow, that might of been the biggest post I've ever written!

i agree, this is a great thread! i try to actually speak with the person, not just say "congrats" or whatever else. i HATE seeing someone typing (tenletterrule) after a post, it drives me crazy. it is not hard to say "congrats", and then add a little something extra, is it?

Hi,
I would just like to add that if you don't want people posting just for the sake of posting, maybe you shouldn't make rules about having to have so many posts before winning a contest! Why should you have to post if you don't have anything to say? I think it is wonderful to encourage people to participate but unfortuantely rules like this will invariably lead to people posting with nothing to say. Perhaps there is another way?

i know what you mean, if you cant be genuine then move on. i would be so upset if i made a thread in the "look what i got" section and someone did that (wow (tenletterruleugg)) or whatever. i dont post in any thread unless i really mean what im saying. i guess maybe the people that do that want to get the 50 needed posts so they can become GTs but i think that is one of the rudest things you can do. to me they are saying i really dont care about you or how you feel. anyway my point is i agree with you, dont post unless you mean it
