Yes, I am a fan of a good debate. As long as the other people debating are doing so on facts, and not just for the sake of arguing!

I love to see a good (clean and respectful) debate, as long as people have tried to gather as much info on the topic as they can. That way we don't end up with a 15 page thread that is going around and around the same points. Because it seems that in threads like this, things get a little to heated and the thread ends up getting deleted because of this. So, in the future, before jumping on the "bandwagon" read back through the thread and see what exactly everyone is talking about, and what points have been made, and what questions have been asked/answered. Also, you will be amazed at the little tidbit's of info you can pick up doing this!!!
Rep! I agree! People should also learn to respect other's opinions!

Good point. I mean sometimes people have similar ideas but if you notice that 15 other people have a similar point as you try going to a different thread or not post it. The people aren't trying to get as many posts as possible on their thread. They just want help finding the answer to their question.

I agree with you, but you have to take thread length into consideration. There are several threads that are 30+ pages long, and they would take forever to read. Many people don't have the time to read each and every post made on the thread.

Thanks for making this point!

Oh yes, I totally agree. But, as some else mentioned, it would be nice if people would try to read the first page or two and the last few as well. That way they at least know what is truly being discussed!!!! Thanks for posting

I agree! You should also read the whole thread first too! Another thing-if you disagree, read all the posts, and once you find somebody with the same point (disagreeing in a good and well-mannered way,) then quote it, and say something like, "I agree," and then insert any other points.

I agree. In debates, I have to address the same issue over and over. I am going to try to read up a bit myself.

This has been an issue I have been noticing also. People don't read on to find what points have been covered. For instance, I have seen threads where every post says the same genaral idea. It is nice to post something different so that the thread owner gets something a little different to take in.
Something else I would like to add, is reading the whole first post. People skim throught those posts, and miss all of teh important information. Some people will ask questions that are abviously answered in the first post. So take the time to read some replied posts, and to read the first post very well...maybe even multiply times to make sure you catch every little detail!
rep for this wonderful reminder!
