Unhappy Avvies, Siggies, and W Sayings. Put yourself in the other persons shoes.

Hey guys! I recently saw a thread that was talking about how the W sayings (the little words you put where your WW ID goes above your avvie) makes them feel upset when it says things like "Proud Atheist" or something like that. When I first read that thread, I was like, "Oh my goodness! Yeah!" but then I thought about the other side of things. How do you think the people who have a different religion or no religion feel about all the Christian sayings, avvies, and siggies? We complain about the athesist sayings, but do you realize they may feel the same way about ours? I just wanted to remind you, that before you complain, think about the other person. If you can have a Christian avvie, siggie, saying, they can have an athesist one.

Please remember to be respectful of all, no mean sayings or words or pictures. Make peace!

Thank you!

EDIT:

Guys -
Please remember this thread IS NOT for talking about religions or bashing people, customs, or beliefs. This would be the same as Anti Twilight and Twilight. Think of it that way.

Good point.
I think anytime you make a thread like that, you should think about both sides of the story.

I agree, I wouldn't like it either if I were them, think about it, its okay for christians to have religious things, but not others? Kudos to you!

Exactly. I saw one of the three not too long ago that stated something about Atheism. I was a little bit "miffed" (LOL) until I stopped right then and thought, "Wait a mintue, I could have something and they couldn't? That's not how it's designed to be around here. WI is one of the most open communities about accepting others. I need to accept it as anything of mine would be accepted." Then I wasn't upset about it at all, it just showed me I thought differently than that person.

You're right! But, you should always tell a person if it offends you in some way.
