Like ddd said, it already automatically resizes. For animated ones it can get difficult, you may need to download programs. My guess is that if they added this on WI, the quality wouldnt be very good because it's not an easy thing to do. If you have a video avie and its too big, you may have to remove frames. If you have an animated avie, it may remove some animations and you just may not be happy with the outcome . I think it's a good idea, but you're much better off taking it to a shop.

I knew how to remove frames on lunapic so it resized the file but looked almost the same, albeit a few unnoticeable frames removed... I'll try to remember how. Or you could ask cocoabean, she may tell you.

Here is a detailed explanation of why an automatic avvie/siggie resizer for animated images does not exist and cannot work. Please read the entire thread for suggested alternative ways of resizing your animations. There is really no point in wishing for things that don't exist and can't be added to WI, unfortunately.

But that is all the forum can do from what I understand. Most things that people bring me are more than the kb limit and those won't fit because shrinking something doesn't always make the kb size reduce enough. And if you have something that is already 125x125 or less there is nothing the forum programming can do to shrink the kb size because that requires anything from optimization to color reduction or several other things that I personally use a special program for.

Unfortunately I don't believe there is any way for the forum programming to do things like optimization and other methods for resizing the kb size of animation.

As an example of what I mean try inserting this avatar which is 130 pixels high but is already less than the kb limit... you'll find that WI will allow you to insert it and will auto resize it to 125 pixels high. The kb size will have reduced slightly from the shrinking as well. But if the kb size was larger there's nothing that can be done.
