I know lately, people are concerned and worried about other people stealing their pictures, such as those from albums. Yet, at the same time, those users also wish for other people to see those pictures, but without taking them. I know we have the contact/friends can only view the pictures option. The only problem with that, is what if somebody becomes your friend just to take some of the pics, and view your album. *Edit I was posting this for the people who do mind, and are pretty touchy about it. I personally don't care, but some people are really worried about this.
So my suggestion, is that maybe we could put a copy/save lock on them so they can't be stolen. I've seen places with this here and there, and just came up with an idea that we can use it, too! This way, if somebody really wants a picture, they have to ask the owner of it, for it first.
It's just one of my random ideas, but tell me what you think!

My thinking on this is that if you want to keep the pictures for yourself, keep them on your Computer until you need them. That way there is no problem with someone taking the pictures you want for yourself.
I agree with both of you. But if you are concerned about people stealing your Album pictures, you could take them off for a while. Especially if you have the Album for uploading pictures for Customizing your Profile, when your done using them, take them down if you don't plant to use them again!
And if you ever do need them, when you take them off your Albums, just say them to your Computer's files so if you EVER need them again, they'll be there!
Personally, I do not mind people taking my pictures, because I get mine mostly off of free places anyway. It is even possible my pictures help advertise for the places I got them from. For example, my avatar is from Yahoo. My signature is from the show Avatar: the Last Airbender. Both I these I have additional pictures for in my albums. Users have inquired of them, and I have been happy to comply with their origins.
Anywho, the idea of people taking my pictures doesn't particularly both me. I hope they have the creativity to seek out their own pictures to express themselves, but if they don't that is fine with me.
The only thing I have a problem with is them taking customized pictures I have ordered from Signature/Avatar shops.
Thanks for your opinion guys! I honestly don't care, but some people are really very... I don't know how to describe it... picky about this, or touchy. It was a suggestion for those who do care, because I know at least a percentage of WI are protective of their pictures.
Hmm..well although I don't mind people taking my pictures if they ask, this might be a good idea! However, as Dixiecup said that they could keep the pictures on their computer if they want it all to themselves, so there's a guarantee that nobody can take it. I agree with both! Rep for both of you!
I agree! Many people still have these problems, not only for albums, but also for avvie/sig shops, and just avvies and sigs in general. I like the idea of a "copy/save lock," I've actually seen something similar to this on other sites .... it'd be a cool new feature, optional, of course.
I also agree with DixieCup, if there's a picture that someone really don't want anyone to steal, they can just keep it on their comp.
Great idea Danielle!
