Also you have to be 18 or older to tell people your age but it really isint a good idea.
I also see how it could affect friend ships because one person could 14 and the other person could be 8.
Thats a 6 year gap. And that would be disturbing to be talking to a person for like 6 months then find out they where only 8.

I don't mind talking to younger/older people ^_^
But I think your right that little kids shouldnt go posting their age on the internet to possible child predators.
Rep for you just because you said you didnt want one =] I know you secretly do. lol
I'd love to give you a rep for this post; but you don't want one. Also in the calender some people put this: Example:
"(Insert WI username here)'s (picking random age) 12th b-day!" And even though it seems not many people look at the calender;a lot of people actually do!
When i put my birthday on the calender on here;i just put: "Lizzyxwebkinz' birthday!" not putting in the age I'm going to be at all.
Once again i wish i could give you a rep but you don't want one.
Lizzy...go put this in YOUR thread, too! It is a VERY important point, VERY! I have seen it a LOT myself!
I see a lot of members on their profiles posting things like "Really? I'm only 10." and stuff like that.
It's not a good idea to tell your age because, in some people's cases, it can end friendships. Like, let's say you're a certain age and another member, your friend, is 4 years older than you. If you gave out your age you might feel uncomfortable talking to someone so much older than you and the other member might be like "oh, i don't want to be friends with a little kid."
Another point is that the person online that you're talking to might say he's a 14-year-old girl when really he's a 60 year old guy. Your safety is in danger when you give out personal information. Some people have been kidnapped due to this cause.
If someone does ask you your age, here are some things you can do:
-Keep it simple. Give them 2 numbers and say" I'm under 100 and over 0."
-Tell the person you aren't comfortable talking about this.
-Report them, it's you that draws the line
1) there are already a bunch of threads like this.
2) Yes, this is a good reminder!
Great thread. People should keep their personal info to themselves. Why? Because of online predators. The internet isn't safe. Well, it can be, but there are some bad people out there. Please stay safe and keep your info to you.
