I need clarification on the no posting of your age rule.
It was pretty clear in the rules section that you are not allowed to post your age, however, there are a few threads that are predominately adults, and adults have been posting their age with no problem. Children were also posting their ages in theses threads and their ages were being removed, but not the adult's ages.
I took from this that if your an adult it is ok to post your age.
Then, I replied to a post and put my age in (I'm an adult). The thread turned out to be mostly kids, who replied back to not post my age.
I was just wondering which is it? Is it ok for adults to post their age, or not?
I've also wondered about this, because sometimes when I'm talking about my children, I do mention THEIR ages....and once, the age of one of my children was edited out of the post....which I thought was odd, since I'm the parent....lol....and I thought it should be OK for me to discuss such things. I would also like clarification on this topic....
It seems like if you're under 18 your age is edited out - and so is the age of anyone mentioned that is under 18. This seems to be a general rule, even if you're the parent mentioning your children. They probably just don't want any mention of any kids under 18. anywhere. If you're over 18, your age seems to stay, but maybe it's also sometimes up to the discretion of moderator of the thread.
Hmmm....I think I've done both before....posted my own and posted my son's age and only one time has anyone ever said anything to me....and it was one of the Forum Protectors! She had thought that NO ONE could post their age.
I can see why you would not want a youngster posting their age, because then a predator could zero in on them....BUT for a parent to post, for instance, that "My 2-yr-old just flipped a plant over"....or something like that....I just don't see the problem with that, because there is no way for someone to get to the child....I thought the no posting age rule was to protect the children???
How do the Moderators know if you're an adult or not posting your child's age. This is for the protection of our children. I, too, am guilty of posting my children's ages as well. You never know who is doing the posting. Anyway, hope this helps. Have a nice day!!
