I always wanted to donate to this site, and infact I AM going to probally (Hopefully) next week or so when I get the money.

I want this site to stay open for as long as it can.

The community here is so great and positive, and everyone makes you feel so welcome. XD
Everyone helps each other out with things, and lots more! XDD

It would be nice for people to drop in and give 5 dollars or so to just so they can know that the site will keep running for as long as possible.

If they cant afford food and the basic necessities why would they be surfing the internet and playing with webkinz. Its not exactly a cheap hobby. It costs me over a hundred a month with the amount of webkinz I own. I just think if people could afford to buy webkinz and buy internet access for their homes they should be able to donate a few bucks if they are utilizing this site. Its not cheap. I just think if they cant afford food and necessities and they are buying webkinz something is wrong with that situation.
Here is the thing, when a situation changes drastically, you have to take things slow. For many families, internet is a necessity, with work, and your kids in school. And for one, I know I am in a tight situation, and I don't ask my parents to buy me Webkinz, and they never have, and they never will. I will get my Webkinz as gifts, or with my own money. Lastly, becuase you buy that many Webkinz, does not mean that every family does, and it does not have to be an expensive hobby if you don't want it to be. I know I don't buy all that many, which does not make it expensive. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with you buying that many Webkinz, but I'm just saying not everyone buys the same amount of Webjubz as you do.Don't be so quick to judge next time, because every financial situation is unique, and has special circumstances.

I would push it one farther that in order to help this site remain its "free" status, you have an obligation to make a contribution so that they can remain open to all. Our children gain enjoyment from such a safe and secure environment that we should help to foster.

Plus, once you make a gift, you get a cute icon under your AVATAR. Look left.
I have to disagree with this.
You may not realize it, but- Some people do not have the means ($$$) by which to donate.
If you start telling everyone they are Obligated to Donate- Some people may either Quit the Site, or Take money that depending on their finacial situation- may need for their family, and instead donate it to the site.

The other thing is that Not Everyone is an Adult on this site you must remember
Because I believe you donate using the PayPal system- and some children do not have a family PayPal account- they may not be able to donate, even though they may want to.

Just my thoughts...

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I think it would be a good idea to mention it quarterly....something like....Have you donated to WI lately??
This would remind people to donate if they can.

I agree, but I don't think people would go drastic enough to quit... just a thought.

Well, What I guess I meant by quitting was if Everyone was Obligated to Donate and you were frowned upon for not donating - people might quit

I know most would not go that far, but not everyone has the means by which to donate....

Oh, I understand now! Sorry about that. I would probably leave if it was looked down upon for not donating.
