this is an awesome thread- i used to work for an ISP and know the costs of running a server. some people may assume that websites like this may actually generate money, which isnt always true. this site is a wonderful free service, that sadly costs the people who run it a lot of money.

that said- times are tight financially for many families right now! im sure wendy and justin just appreciate all the wonderful people on here and all the support they have. they are intelligent resourceful people, and will find a way to keep WI going! im sure all the people who know they can donate will, and the people who cant at this time will keep it in the back of their minds for later when the economy or their personal situation gets better.

Shoc, thanks for posting this suggestion! Danielle, as a teacher of 14 years, welcome to the profession! I remember being a first-year teacher and how fast that paycheck went each month. It was a challenging first year, but well worth it! I hope your year goes well also! Take care of yourself, and I pray that you have the strength and wisdom to handle whichever news you get tomorrow!

I'm in my second year of college, and money is pretty tight. My webkinz are mostly gifts from my mom and boyfriend. I have bought a few though. As soon as I feel comfortable with my financial status, I'll donate. I love this website!

As for the teachers on WI, awesome! I'm majoring in English, and I plan on teaching.

It is a wonderful idea to donate to the site. For some reason my donation button disappeared when I got my banner added, but still it's good to see so many other members are stepping up to help out too.

It really shows how much people enjoy the site when they are willing to donate to help keep it running:0)

Thanks for posting this I'm sure some people were not aware of this I know I wasn't when I first joined.
Any little bit counts big or small.
I donated what I could afford at the time my kids and I love this site and I wouldn't want to see it go anywhere.
Thanks to Wendy and Justin and all the admin/mods who make this site what it is

I have a phone piggy bank I painted myself; that is money I am saving for a cheeky dog. I also have a wallet; that is where I store my money just for frivolity. Then, I have two Coney Island cups; one is money I am saving for the future; the other is for WI. I may be only a kid, but I am trying to raise up to $50 or more to give to the site that has brought me so much happiness

danielle, if you are pregnant -- congratulations! if not, hopefully it will come soon enough (assuming that you want to be).

UPDATE: p.s. this was posted before i saw larkrose post (look up!)
well i read your post about that some people do not have money for food. Now I totally agree with you that there are a lot of people who can not afford even change but it made me ask myself. If they cant afford food and the basic necessities why would they be surfing the internet and playing with webkinz. Its not exactly a cheap hobby. It costs me over a hundred a month with the amount of webkinz I own. I just think if people could afford to buy webkinz and buy internet access for their homes they should be able to donate a few bucks if they are utilizing this site. Its not cheap. I just think if they cant afford food and necessities and they are buying webkinz something is wrong with that situation.
