75 second Reporting

Hi there,

I recently just flagged two posts, one right after another. The first one was in the wrong section, however the second one had personal information. When I went to flag the second one, it said I had to wait 75 seconds. I think this is a bit odd... Let's say there were two threads that had phone numbers, or inappropriate pictures on them in a section that only you were viewing. By the time you got around to flagging the second or third one, a young child on here may have been able to catch site of the picture or an online kidnapped/hacker got the phone number. It would turn into a major disaster.

I know my examples are a bit extreme, but you should always be planned for the unpredictable.

I think I know why the 75 second limit is there; to prevent over-flagging? But, if something like I mentioned were to come up, the 75 second would end up being a pain in the :-X.

Can suggest that the limit be taken away?

Thanks for reading, sorry it turned out to be so long!

I agree.
I mean.. yeh, I understand why they may have a limit, but maybe reduce the time to something like 10-20 seconds, maybe, yes?

I'd be fine with that, 75 is just pretty extreme :)

yes, i do agree! the 75 seconds is a tad much, and like you said, we should be prepared for the worst. i mean, don't get me wrong, the mods are great, but i just think there are too many members on WI to have that huge limit. :) rep

That's a good idea, like I've seen 2 people doing things like this (during a chat or something) but I had to wait 75 seconds to report one of them! The limit should at least be smaller, like 10-20 (as PaperBlossom said)

It's meant to prevent spam, but on a site like this, it could cause alot of trouble.

5-20 seconds would be enough...

Yes, I can see why it is there, however I think it still should be lowered. :)

I think 40 seconds between reporting posts should be sufficient. 40 is an inbetween estimate... :)

Re: 75 second Reporting

I'd say 5-10 seconds is appropriate;; because I don't think it's possible to find two inappropriate posts on different threads within 10 seconds. Unless they were on the same thread, but then you could just add that there were other posts on that thread, in your little report box. :)
