What really bugs me is the Cows thread every day which I am sure she takes the time to research but nothing is posted on the thread about the topic. I read it but hardly ever post because the first ten posts or so are always things like "Ist post" or made the first page, etc. If the subject is about Popeye or Mr. Ed, discuss that and not what I wore to school or who has a crush on who. I agree we need more places where adult discussions can be posted without the silly trivial things the younger posters write.

There's a definate difference between the kids and adults on this forum...and it'd be nice to have a place that we (adults) can talk about things that are more relavent to our lives....politics, events going on in the news, marriage etc... Having a thread titled *adults only* will only make every person young and old want to click on it... A subforum would be nice.

I feel very strongly about this. I don't really agree to having an adult section. There was another thread about this topic, and Justin said that WI is for everyone.

I think that children do have some great stuff to offer on this site. I know, when I first joined, I was one of those kids who you wanted to get away from. After watching some of the helpful adults on the site, like Ginger and Mom2hnemi, just to name a few, I wanted to be like them. After starting to follow their example, I think I have grown into a helpful, mature member. If you want to eliminate childish posts, don't close yourself up in an adult section, get out there and be a role model, like many have done for me.

I want to commend you for this very well-stated comment! I think your eloquence only reinforces the maturity you've developed and I applaud your contributions to this discussion!

Seeing as I'm only 23, I suppose I would probably be excluded from an over 30 subforum The world of Webkinz addicts has a very broad age range. One of the unique (though limiting) things about Webkinz itself is that it doesn't allow for personal interaction except with pre-formed sentences (except in the KinzChat Plus which has been closed for how long now?). When you're doing trades and sending notes to other users on WW you can't tell how old the person is by the in-game exchange, generally, because of these formulated answers. I'm fairly certain that Ganz did not expect adults to become a big part of Webkinz's playerbase, but the fact that they did design the site to protect kids in the first place is good. It shows they realize there's some creepy people out there (though that's an entirely different topic).

It does drive me nuts to read the "OMGOMGOMG my parents are so AWFUL!!!1!!!" posts. Generally, though, the titles let me know that it's something that I can skip. But when someone posts "Please help, I have a question/problem" and then their post is "OMG MY PARENTS ARE SO MEAN THEY WONT LET ME BUY NE MORE WEBKINZ AND I ONLY HAVE LIKE 50" it does get rather bothersome. I like to help people where I can when they have a genuine inquiry, so I get ****** into these unknowingly.

My main reason for supporting an adults area would be for getting serious answers to questions that I have about things in WW or WI. I've posted threads asking for help on something, and the only answers I got were "I don't know, but first post!!!!" or "haha ur dumb that u dont kno that already!" which is not helpful. Being called dumb for asking a legitimate question is not something I particularly enjoy.

I understand the sentiment that WI is for everyone. I don't think it's particularly fair that there isn't a designated area for more adult discussion, but the other side of the coin is that you might be excluding the few that do have a legitimate point or good idea to make known. In any community or group there's always going to be differences, be it in age, education, or attitude. WI is no different, for better or worse.

Start a tread with an adult interest and you are more likely to attract a more mature base. I like the mix. I work with child safety issues (but not spelling) and WI is a good place to research what goes on in a forum. While being somewhere that has something that interests me.

Also there comes a time in most children's lives when they stop talking about their interests with their parents. By occasionally diving into a non-adult thread you can get a fairly good idea of what goes on in your kids' heads.

Yes, this subject was just visited a few
weeks ago. This site was actually meant
for children but has grown to include
people of all ages....that's what makes us
a unique *family.* Personally, I love to
hear what the kids think about issues...
maybe they like to hear our thoughts
as well.
