I would like to thank and honor the MOST IMPORTANT veteran in my life~~My Daddy. He served in the Asian Theater during WWII. He always kidded around about being a "big sissy" but he was brave enough to voluntarily go to war at age 19 and defend our Country. He never could eat pineapple or watch fireworks again. The sounds of the fireworks reminded him to much of the sounds of war. He went to Heaven 6 years ago, and his grave is near the lake in my city and facing the lake from a hill. Every 4th of July they have a big fireworks display that about 50,000 people come to see. I whispered one night "Guess God wanted you to watch the beautiful fireworks Daddy, now that they can't scare you any longer" God Bless America and all the men who made this country what it is.
Thanks to all those who serve to protect our freedom. I live in Kansas City where there is a world-class musuem about World War I. The Liberty Memorial with it's eternal flame stands in memory of all those who paid the ultimate price for freedom in the "Great War" and the other conflicts to defend life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Fly our flag!
Thank you to all the men and women who have served including my husband. Thank you for protecting the freedoms we take for granted. And for the unseen sacrifices that have been made.
Although not veterans, I would like to say a special thank you to the families of those serving as well. They often sacrifice just as much (in different ways) without questioning.
