My Mom has been a wonderful role model for taking anything life gives you and making the best of it. She had a difficult childhood, was married at age 16 and had her 3rd, and final, child by age 20. 44 years later, she is still married to the same man, has 5 beautiful grandchildren and serves as an inspiration for all of us. This week-end, I will celebrate both Mother's Day with my 2 children and our 18th Wedding Anniversary with my wonderful husband. I owe everything that I am to my awesome Mother. Thanks Mom, God Bless You, this week-end and always!
Happy Mothers Day to my Grandmother. She was an amazing person with lots of interesting stories. When she was in her teens she moved to our big city and worked as a maid. Her employer taught her a lesson that "You are not better than anyone and no one is better than you", which I have shared with my kids. She was full of pep (rode a skateboard in her 60's). She always had a jello mold ready for guests and Dentyne gum in her purse. She meant so much to me I named my daughter after her. She was so proud of that. Her only health problem in her 90's was Alzheimers. She passed away recently a month after celebrating her 96th b-day. I knew she couldn't rember us in her brain but I know she did in her heart.
...being there through my temper tantrums as a kid, and my mood swings now.
...loving me unconditionally.
...taking my to all of my extra curricular activities.
...giving me love and support when I feel down.
...being there for me through think and thin.
