LOL.. The ad people play. If you see an ad about for example "We have Webkinz in stock for $11.99"... You go and click and see what the store has in stock. That "click" is registered by Google and they will pay us for your click. If the store doesn't have anything that you like, no worries! If an ad doesn't interest you, you can go ahead and ignore it or whatever you like!
The only concern i have about ads are the amount of minors on this website who may be clicking away at ads with out their parent's permission. Also, are you allowed to review what types of ads they are before they are added? Again with the amount of children (sorry guys) there are on here, there certainly are ads for things i wouldn't want to expose my kids to. This is a very safe site for people of all ages to be on right now, i wouldn't want to compromise it's integrity by adding ads that may not be appropriate or may be misused by the minors that are here.
Yep, I can see what you're saying and you have to remember, these ads are hosted by Google. Google has a reputation to protect, just as we do, so that's why I've chosen them to host the ads. As you may or may not know, we've had ads running for guests for over a month now and I've never had anyone complain about inappropriate ads. Everything is context based, and Google does a decent job about making it Webkinz-related, though sometimes, they are weird (like recipes for Apple pies in the recipes section). I have put WI in the family-friendly category and no inappropriate ads will be served to WI.
Also, I'm not asking or telling anyone to click anything! If you are interested in the ad to buy Webkinz, etc, (or even want to bake an apple pie) go for it and click!
I think it's an okay idea but like Princess Tiara said as long as it's safe ads for kids, my 10yr old likes to browse and asks me to do trades for him sometimes. But I do have 1 liitle request....I wouldn't mind donating a Webkinz or two to help out with contests. If you don't mind you could pm me or give me an addre ss I could send to I'd be glad to help out we love it here.
Well, over 100 votes and about 77% say okay, so let's give it a chance. If it doesn't work out, it's easy to turn off. Thanks for your votes, everyone! I'll look into the donations and other suggestions as well! Thanks for letting us try this out to support the site!
