My grandfather is a veteran and many people I know are, I want to say Thank You Veterans, for fighting for the country I stand in today, many of you have risked your lives for us, and it changes the people, many of you have been injured, many families have lost, but no matter what the people who had died to make our country better will always go down as a hero. Thank you Veterans.
Happy Veterans Day.
Happy Veteran's Day to all the Americans out there. And to the Canadians (like me), Happy Remebrance Day! Either way, we all owe a great deal to the brave men and women who have fought to keep our countries free. I pray that we never forget why they fought (and even died). My little boy has been proudly wearing a poppy for a week, and we will take him to a Remebrance Day ceremony today. Lest We Forget.
Thanks to all the Soldiers that have served and are still serving. I personally have a grandfather that served in the Vietnam War, and when I visited the Vietnam Wall a couple years ago in Washington D.C. it was just so overpowering. It made me think of what my life would be like without him, if he would have died in Vietnam. I would totally recommend a trip to D.C. to see the monuments if you live in the US and have the opportunity. A trip there really makes you stop and think about all the things we have to be thankful for. The main thing is our freedoms, and the people that lay down their lives, get seriously injured, and go through post-traumatic stress disorders when they come back. THANK YOU VETERANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I am selected, please delete me from the winners and choose another. I want nothing.
I am Canadian. I have learned, over many years, that we have fought in many pivotal wartime battles. I am honoured that we are appreciated for our effort and loss in many important conflicts. We try not to talk about our achievements - they stand for themselves. But, I want people to know! We fought in WWII and liberated Holland. From Nomandy to the Netherlands, we fought hard and won. My parents are alive because Canadian soldiers fought and died in the battle. We kept Kandahar from the Taliban. Only 3,000 troops! I am proud!
I will give time to reflect on their sacrifice and thank all our service men and women for their commitment to peace!
