My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year. We didnt know anyone with diabetes so we were unaware of the complications it has for your health. I definatly want to promote awareness so others arent surprised by such a life changing disease.
I totally support Diabetes Awareness!
My grandfather and friend both have Diabetes, so this would mean everything to me. My grandpa means the world to me and he inspires me everyday.
My grandpa, two of my friends, and aunt all have Diabetes. I have gone to Dr. appointments with my grandpa and it was scary to think I could lose him. The last time I went with him, his blood sugar was very low, and he started to shake and sweat. I can tell when his sugar is low and that helps him a lot. Even if I don't win I will be very happy that I could share my story
Thank you WI for raising awareness and maybe someday soon we can find a cure.
I think it's a great thing you're doing here, WI
Diabetes is surprisingly common and although there is a cure, it's something you'll have to commit to for the rest of your life.
A lot of people have heard about diabetes, but there's so much more to know such as what causes it? What exactly IS it? And what does it cause for you?
I gladly support this contest. Good luck to everyone!!
I am a diabetic soI appreciateyour effort to raise awareness. Eighteen years ago, I lost my twin to the side effects of juvenil diabetes. It was a lifelong struggle for him though it did not stop him from having a full life on a day to day basis.
These days everyone should watch their diets and be periodically tested just to be sure. Diabetes can impact just about every factor of your life and, untreated, can cause more damage then people can imagine.
