The best gift I ever gave was movie tickets. I know it sounds lame but I have tried for years to find a good gift for my father. I don't seem him very often and we don't have a lot in common but he always gets everyone such wonderful gifts. As a parent, he always got pictures or gift cards or wine or a nice blanket or something. Good stuff but the same stuff every year. He was always polite and said thank you and smiled but there was no real excitement. I wanted him to be as excited about what I gave him as I always am for his gifts.
Then it hit me. I remembered all the times he mentioned going to the movies and how he liked to go just to relax. I got him a couple of pairs of tickets. When he opened it he was so excited! He jumped up to call my step mother over and show her. He was telling me how much he really likes to go and that the tickets were really cool. It was so awesome!
Finally he got a gift that he was excited about too!
The best gift I ever gave had to be when I had first gotten together with my now husband. We had been dating 6 months, he is/was super into stars and stuff. He can pretty much point anything out. it's so cool.
But I bought/named him a star, printed out the certificate and framed it for him. He loved it so much. Gotta be the best gift anyones ever given him.
