But we PAY for this! We bought the pets, we buy the codes, we pay for deluxe and they tell US they are shutting down the site for 3 hours for the kids to go to play?! I don't think they should have that right honestly, since WE PAY for all of this.
I do agree with others that it a parents job to regulate when their kids play on the computer & or video games( sadly a lot don't). Kids that are NOT limited will just go to a blog or different site. However I think Ganz's intentions a good (THIS TIME).
The event influences kids to be active by getting their schools and educational organizations to host an event to get out and be active. Those wanting to participate would contact Nickelodeon for instructions 2 hours When the Let's Just Play campaign ended in September, Nickelodeon aired the finale during the last Saturday of September, the "Worldwide Day of Play". Nickelodeon and its sister channels suspend programming for three hours from 12 Noon to 3PM ET/PT. During the time there was no programming, a special message would appear on the screen—for instance,
On September 25, 2010, the following message was shown on Nick from 12-3pm:
" Today is Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play! We're outside playing and you should be too! So, turn off your TV, shut down your computer, put down that cell phone, and go ALL OUT! We'll be back at 3! "I think it's great to encourage this & help make everyone more aware of how they & their children spend their time.
