*Having visions of Webkinz showing up on Ebay at insane prices*

Sadly I am way to weak to quit playing with and buying Webkinz. I love Webkinz, they are a wonderful concept that I wish was around when I was a child. Many of the plushies make me happy to look at them and hold them and they are all over my room. I have an entire wall of Signature Webkinz. Another wall with deeper shelving for regular Webkinz. There are even Webkinz on my computer desk and yes I even have a Webkinz mousepad. The are Webkinz stickers all over my CPU. I have all the scents of Webkinz Body Spritz in my bathroom. There is a row of Mazin Hamsters on the top of my monitor staring at me as I type. I have Webkinz figurines arranged on top of a book and some Webkinz I just realised now are even all over my drumkit. I even have the actual physical Webkinz charms which are hard to find unless you look on Ebay. Believe it or not I only have one Zumbuddy. And I still haven't put away my Webkinz Christmas ornaments.

I am a huge fan of Webkinz... not a big fan of the decision makers at Ganz.

Why am I not surprised by this bone headed move? I am willing to take bets that the big box stores that have alot of money and instant Platinum status on thier retailer site will not be affected at all and will be allowed to continue to buy large quantities in bulk at insanely low prices compared to all the poor independent retailors who have to pay the full $7 wholesale per Webkinz compared to the average $2 or less that larger companies pay because of thier Platinum status with Ganz.

I have never had to order from Ameriwade because I have always had really easy access to finding the plushies and often have them in my hands long before everyone else from what I have seen on this site. Ameriwade is very fair and reasonable from what I have read on thier website. Being that they are able to service alot of customers they should be allowed to order enough to fill customer orders. Has Ganz not seen the Ameriwade website? If Ganz was smart they would figure out a way for Ameriwade to even include those Webkinz Game Cards in thier inventory. And because Amerwade accepts PayPal I would be able to buy them too.

I am kind of freaking out right now though because a lady I get most of my Webkinz from at the flea market relys on a retailor that services several other vendors to get them. Will she still have my Webbies for me when I come to pick them up as I usually do?

There are several stores in my town that have them and sadly they are getting fed up because they can't meet demand for new Webkinz as it is. Retailors new to Ganz that don't know any better end up with shelves filled with Webkinz from years ago that no one is looking for anymore because Ganz gives them a deal on them making them think they really got something. Then they get to dance with Ganz every month wondering whether or not they will get ANY of the new Webkinz. More often than not many of them don't get any of the new Webkinz and lose customers this way and end up stuck with shelves full of Webkinz that no one will impulse buy along with a new release Webkinz. This new count restriction will cripple them and make them give up for sure.

Thank goodness for flea markets and the nice lady that keeps new webbies aside for me. Retailors and vendors that manage to find each other have been able to work out a system that works to combat the unfair practice engaged by Ganz in how they favour the big box stores over independent retailors.

The very foundation of a good economy here in Canada and the US was built on the back of the independent retailor, not a big box store. What do you think would happen if we only had Walmart or Target to shop at and no one else? Think really hard what would happen. Prices would go through the roof as they would have a monopoly on EVERYTHING. Look what happens in small towns as soon as a Walmart or Target shows up. Independent retailors almost instantly go belly up because they can't compete.

Imagine you were the only store for miles around and you are in the middle of the desert and you specialise in water. A busload of people pulls up outside. You could charge whatever you wanted for water because you have no competition. You could even change your prices as often as you want so you can really break your customers.

I have been screaming about this unfair practice of thiers with retailors for quite sometime, I see now that other people are starting to notice what is going on finally.

The way Ganz treats thier retail customers makes me very sad. In fact it reminds of what TY was doing to retailors with thier beanie babies, only they didn't get away with it is long as Ganz has and they are now at the mercy of the whimsy of leary retailors thanks to abusing them in the past. I never liked the beanie things and never laughed so hard when I saw thier weak attempt at trying to copy Webkinz by creating thier own site for thier beanies.

My friend who owns a store that was going to liquidate all her Webkinz stuff decided she liked the new boxes for the Webkinz and wanted to try them out. On the retailor site it said she would not be charged for the boxes. When she got her bill... she was charged $1 extra per box and thusly had to adjust the prices for her Grizzly Bears accordingly.

Did they mean that only retailors with a desired status level are exempt from this extra cash grab they have come up with? I am seriously disappointed.

Which leads me to my next question. Ganz said they were never going to charge extra for the display boxes. What other decisions are they going to go back on in the future? Are accounts still never going to expire or will a new membership fee to keep the accounts open be introduced?

Are they getting rid of the Webkinz products and going completely estore? I really doubt it. Those plushies are what draws customers in the first place. I think I can see partly through this move as well. By taking the focus off Webkinz by making them more difficult to obtain they can try and start directing us to thier newer and far cheaper to produce products such as Tail Towns or Amazing World.

I have so many questions that maybe I should make a day of it and drive over to Ganz and see who I can speak to who is in charge. Thier head office is not all that far for me if I can get friend to drive me over.

This isnt a 'one time thing' as said in the article. First it was the hippo in january then may pets that some were 'low'on and ameriwadehad trouble getting. Then it was two in june that ameriwade was promised and ganz fell through on in a nasty, nasty way for robert/ameriwade. This is not new,its been phased in slowly and what i said about the boxes going to cost us more, well looks like thats what happened. Not a surprise there ieither. I honestly think ganz doesnt care what we buy or who they hurt (,like ameriwade and the small retailers) because ive said all along now for two years they are getting more and more rude, illmannered, and arrogant. They think this will cause a webkinz frenzy? No, not for me. Ill jsut stop buying., and ive had to have one of each pet i was able to easily get. Now that it wont be easy than i easily walk away because i am not a hunter and i dont get off on adrenalin and giving a psychopathic company more of my money. They dont really care if they get my money anyway............. They just were unfortunatly who had the creative people have the webkinz idea, its those employees who made the money for them. But they wont have any hesitation in letting themgo.......... Aslong as the suits at ganz have their jobs right?

This is disgusting and its the businesses like ameriwade that will be hurting the most. Shame on them. But they cant be shamed. Its not in their vocabulary. Anyone want to go and blast me about me hating ganz and rah rah ganz go ahead, ive stopped listening to that stuff long ago. If you cant be mad about this then youll never be mad about anything. I started out loving ganz but after five years of their junk im much wiser now.

Im seething right now . From so many aspects of this.

you know what else? ganz did this to themselves by being stingy with earning the prizes and kinzcash, overpricing everything, having poor customer service and stopping any email contact, except of course when they want to sell you more stuff, then they magically can send emails to all of us,,,,,,,,,,,,and by not fixing most of the glitches and problems and not even ackowledging most of them, blaming the customer for these said glitches by us having too many items in our dock/too many pets/too many items in our rooms.............. yet they give a badge for having 300 pets and now encourage us to have only one acct by making new accts harder to use............ they make us click everywhere to get stuff we used ot only get in ww.......... they have third party ads everywhere, odd ones too for a kids site................... they take advantage of theri retailers and bully them like they do the customer............... they add more and more items that you cant easily find in the estore............... they make more and more and do more and more when thy cant take care of the old stuff right.................... this is them. all them. but of course they will blame it on us not buying enough................................
its always our fault.

our docks are too full, and wehave bought too many plushies and adopted them to our accounts .................thats why there are less plushies being released.

I know I've been cutting back, and it's things like this that help me to do so. Either I have to pay some higher amount on Ebay, or search my locals stores endlessly, only to find out that the 3 they were supposed to get never came. Because other stores got the whole allotment. Very frustrating, and really makes it not very fun.

I love webkinz, and have so many now that I can enjoy what I have. I will buy new ones, only if I REALLY want it, and can find it at the right/fair price. I'm not going to pay $35-40 for a regular webkinz because Ganz wants to limit them like this. All their doing is hurting themselves (and even worse the retailers).

According to what I've heard from retailers, they've been told by Ganz that production schedules are set far in advance... In fact, 3 months in advance is fairly normal. So, this production run was scheduled on the low end with an expected decrease in demand during the second quarter of the FY. They've admitted it was a mistake and, with the advertising campaign to launch this summer, inventory levels should go back to the normal limit of 6 per style, except on the designated "limited" release each month (IE: Hippie Hippo).

I had done a 'buy it now' on ebay 2 weeks ago and ordered the Mystic Pony. Yesterday, the seller refunded my money and canceled the order because of Ganz's latest decision.
What a bummer!
So I went out and did another 'buy it now' with a different seller. I hope they don't cancel this transaction too!!!!

Thumbs down Re: Ganz Drastically Reduces Retailer Plush Stock for July Webkinz

I am saddened by this decision. I pre-ordered something a month ago and now I'm being told by my distributor that they have to reimburse me because...although they had put their order in and it had been accepted and verified over a month ago....Webkinz went back on that and is only allowing them 3.

They're doing serious damage to their reputation and damaging small businesses that make a living off of selling Webkinz.

Not cool.
