Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts *UPDATE*

A WI Front Page entry has been added:

Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts *UPDATE*

We are still getting questions from many of our members regarding the drastic H/H/H drop that has affected a number of Webkinz World accounts. Unfortunately the only news we can bring you is that the problem is on-going. Everyone who has had this glitch hit their account is still affected. Back on February 24th, WI member FroggyDoodle was told by a Ganz customer service representative that this problem is related to a new feature that has been added to Webkinz World to force us to feed our pets and that a story addressing the glitch would be posted on the Webkinz Newz site on February 25th. So far, this has not happened.

Webkinz Insider member cheree31 had a conversation with a customer service representative just this morning regarding the H/H/H problem with her daughter's account:

"I wasn't hit but my [child] was and she was pretty upset.... she spent the night spending all her kinz cash to get them to at least 50 percent. Then when she ran out of money she started selling her stuff and she was crying cuz she didn't want them to die. I called ganz this morning and explained that I spend a lot (probably have spent 1000's on this site) and I really didn't appreciate watching my little girl cry. He told me there was nothing he could do and said to tell my kid to take them to the spa....[to] which I replied "Are you going to give her 29000 kinz cash to do that?" He said then don't feed them. I will be getting a call back from a supervisor about this issue he said to see if there was something they could do. This is all very disappointing and sad. I wish it had been my account and not hers. I also explained to him that if this was how it was going to be that it was not fair because kids have homework and chores and activities that sometimes keep them from getting on the computer. He didn't seem to care. I will let you all know what the supervisor says. Very disappointing." --cheree31

UPDATE: Thank you to WI member meowsrus for sharing her conversation with a customer service representative with us:

"OK, Got to talk with a real live human being over at Ganz. She was VERY kind. She said pretty much the same as what we have heard from others, except also that since they have received so many complaints over this new feature/glitch that more than likely it might be eliminated. I gave her my 2 cents to add to the plethora and I heard her typing them away in the background. (I won't go into them all here, but the gist was that this is mostly meant for kids, if we wanted them to be like 'real pets' we would have gotten those, adults can't even go away for a day, kids with disabilities/afterschool activities, and I went on even more!)

She also told me that this was supposed to have been a feature from the beginning, but was taken off for a while (well about almost 2 years it was eliminated).

But what I also got was kinzcash added to my girls' account to help feed the pets back up to par. This was wonderful, especially considering the responses many of you have gotten from them over the issue. She added in an arbitrary amount to help them stay up over the next few days as well.

PLUS! She said to expect a notification about this issue off of their main page more than likely within the next few days (she figures within the business week)." --meowsrus

Thank you to WI member tarsky781 for this picture from her affected account.

THis has made me so frusturaded, I spent AT LEAST 2000 KC trying to feed my many pets. It has made my sis cry, and GANZ is making us all mad.....

That guy was being pretty rude to her, he should be fired! Poor girl. It hasn't affected my account yet though.

That is very sad. I am extremely disappointed in Ganz for doing this, especially to the kids. My account has not been affected, but my little cousin's account was hit hard, and he is just so sensitive when it comes to these things as many kids are. Hopefully they will rethink this "new feature" because they will lose a lot of respect.

thats so annoting. i hate when they are unhelpful. the best food booster is carrot cake, spagetti, and french fries. boosts em' up 46 points. and really cheap

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

I am sorry to hear that. It hasn't happened to us, but we have been hit by many other glitches that have caused many tears. My kids are extremely sensitive about these things.

I wouldn't spend any more money trying to get the numbers up until they can fix the problem. I would just pick one pet and keep that one healthy enough to do jobs and tuck the others in bed for now.
The good news is that they don't actually die (like the Tomagatchi pets!)

I am so sorry that you had a terrible CSR - they are out there:(. I wonder how they keep their jobs. I posted over the weekend on a separate thread with some info (the other post re: Happiness/Health/Hunger). I would attach it, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.:) Good luck to everyone!

Actually I find the garden food works best for me, but when you have more than 20 pets, any amount of food is hard to keep up with. There is no time for fun when all you are doing is feeding. It's funny how this happens and the adpotions are all messed up too. Is Ganz quitting on us? hmmmmm.............

I feel so sorry for those affected... I haven't been hit (yet!) but I'll constantly check my pets!

Ganz really stinks. Go to Buildabearville instead. Build-a-Bear cares about it's customers. Maxine Clark is the best. She evens visits her own site and gives gifts to everyone she sees. They are expanding on it everyday, and it's only going to get bigger and better as time goes on.

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

Don't worry, if this is a new "feature" it is probably not working properly. Just like bingoz. Bingoz is supposed to be new and improved so everyone can enjoy it. My bingoz games are getting reset more now than before they "fixed" it! The only explanation is that they didn't program it properly and there are accounts where the bingoz games aren't getting reset at all. It is statistically improbable that there are that many winners with only the regular balls, 1 extra ball, and then 5 bingoz coupons (my 3 ball games have been getting reset every day -- with 68 winners, 65, 63, 88, 64, 84...and more to come I'm sure---unless they actually "fix" it!). I hope this provides you with an example of a "new feature" that is "broken"!!!! Also, "my page" has been a "new feature" and now it is down in "maintenance mode", probably because the treetop rooms don't work in the view your room option. And ever since they put the treetop rooms in, some adoptions lock members out of their accounts. So, in conclusion, a lot of their "new features" don't work properly. Just my opinion. The "new features" can be wonderful when they work (but the dropping H/H/H is not wonderful at all).

And it's so inconsistent...active accounts, inactive accounts (even if the pets were always kept at 100 before), big accounts, small accounts. Some accounts aren't affected at all. There's no rhyme or reason to this. If it's a feature, then how about some communication telling us exactly what the guidelines are. How many points a day? Or is it per log-in? And who at Ganz will take the responsibility to make sure our points don't drop during vacations and busy school periods? Surely we are entitled to a day off here and there aren't we without punishment?

So many questions. I WANT ANSWERS!!

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

I find that the only thing that really helps in this situation is having a large garden. I'm able to harvest and feed all my pets without shelling out any KinzCash. My oldest son too. That having been said, I would be FURIOUS :wallbash::wallbash: if my smallest two had the problem on their accounts and couldn't afford to nurse them back to health, because they really do see these virtual pets as alive!

I believe in the original post they explained that Ganz has multiple servers, and everyone's account that was tied to the malfunctioning server, were the accounts with the H/H/H issues...for us - myself, hubby, and oldest son were affected, but not the other three!

My Escape03-09-2009 12:19 PM

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

Hmm, i don't see where it says anything about servers, but i'll go back and check all the posts. But then that makes no sense because the cs reps are now saying it's a feature. A feature would affect ALL accounts. A glitch affects a few. Which is it?

This is sad. I too have spent 1000s on Webkinz. I know if they don't fix this soon this will be the nail in the coffin for us. I have never complained our gotten upset over the glitches but this????My daughters don't have the time or the money to do this every time they log in so they are staying off of webkinz and the sad part they don't seem to miss it because they have found other sites that are fun for them. (build a bear and pixie hollow)We have stop buying webkinz because we have so many and times are tough so hopefuly they will fix this soon because they will lose our business.:-\

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

:'( I had tears come to my eyes when I read that your daughter had to start selling her things. I'm very upset that they couldn't care more than that. IT would have been easy for that rep to add some money for her to fix the pets. I have 3 kids of my own and if their account was hit I would take it upon myself to bring them to the spa. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I hope the supervisor calls back with some good news.

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

it's extremely disappointing that ganz felt the need to randomly punish people with ridiculously low HHH!!!...their scores were high because that had fulfilled their pets' needs while in WW...this seems like a nasty way to get us to all spend a ton more kinzcash, which they will probably start selling in the e-store!!...i can't tell you how unhappy we are...we won't purchase any more webkinz until this "issue" is fixed...we also won't visit the spa or spend a sick amount of kinzcash...shame on you ganz for being so unfair!:(

I wasn't one of the ones hit but I am very upset that Ganz is doing this I think it is unfair and mean.
I am very sorry to hear about your daughter, cheree. I would like to help her so if you give me her username I will try to send her some food, since I wasn't hit I don't have this problem

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

Something I just noticed.... In my account, I created a movie theatre and move my pets there. They are the sam for H/H/H. My Daughter moved some of her pets and those that were moved were OK, but the one left had a drop in H/H/H but not too bad.
My son's has not moved his pets in awhile, I fed them a week ago and those are the ones in the red....

Interesting..... Perhaps moving your pets every so often is a way to prevent the H/H/H drop.

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

This sounds like a great chance for parents to explain to the kids that the virtual pets are not real and will not die. Parents may want to note that at well.

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

That just breaks my heart! I can't believe they don't care enough to fix that for her :( I hope a Supervisor is more helpful to you.

I am in the same boat as you with the reps not seeming to care. I spoke to a rep today because I got locked out of my account from an adoption and they told me it had to be reset and I can't go on my account tomorrow, which I find just unacceptable.

I decided to ask her about the H/H/H issue because it's happened to my daughter's account and she said to keep an eye on it and track it over time and get back to her. She then called me right back and told me that a bulletin will be released soon from Ganz explaining the system for the H/H/H that was put into place, she called it a "feature". She said it will explain why all pets drop and not just the one you are playing with. She said she would not be able to help me with this matter since it's information now coming from the Creative team. I hope they release it very soon so we can get some information.

I told her how disappointed I was that I couldn't play on my account all day today and that my daughter was not able to get on her account all weekend long and she didn't seem to care nor want to do anything to compensate for all that was lost. I'm sorry I know it's just a pixel but to my daughter it was a Mystical Panda she couldn't log on (imagine how upsetting that would be) and it meant losing all of her dailies and POTM activities, which in essence she PAID to be able to do buy purchasing the Pet of the Month. I find this totally unacceptable.

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

Both my nephews accounts were affected. I just got off the phone with a customer rep (calling me back from my message last week) and I told her how frustrating this was, especially given that there was NO NOTICE before it happened and there STILL has not been an official acknowledgment/announcement on the Webkinz Newz (either the site or on WW).

I told her that it wasn't fair to have all the pets HHH drop if someone logged in and made the suggestion that others had (have a few pets drop). I also told her it wasn't fair that it happened every day. She said she understood, that they had had 'thousands' of calls, but she didn't seem to be able to help.

I also asked for a supervisor to call me back, so we'll see what happens. Her response was basically, have them log in every day. I told her that they can't always do this, but that seemed to be her only response.

So I guess I'll wait for a supervisor to call and then see what to do. I agree with others though that feeding/exercising/bathing over 100 webkinz (between the accounts) seems a little ridiculous.

Also, one question I wonder about, if I log in every day like they suggest, will their HHH go up?

Another random question: Does anyone log into another site that is aimed to kids, where you HAVE to log in every day or face a penalty? I know myself and my nephews are on other sites where you CAN log in every day and receive extra things, but you are not REQUIRED to log in. This seems like a bad move on the part of Ganz, especially if they want to win another award (like is listed on the Webkinz Newz).

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

samething happened to my 3 kids accounts..... so i called ganz on Friday 5-6-09. I was told it is a new thing they are doing. if you don't sign on daily your account will be affected. I was not happy!!!! one of my kids has 101 pets on it. I told the the girl i talked to how mad i was that i spend at least 100.00 a week on webkinz for 4 accounts and she just replied that you have to get on everyday or you will have to pay! I told her sometimes the kids can't cause of school and school activities. still no help!!!! the smalles account we had cost over 39,000 just to get it back up!!! my daughter with the 101 pets still has not done hers. (don't want to see how much ganz will take from us there) This new bright idea from ganz just might run them into the ground!!!! I'm sure people will get tired of getting ripped off by this new bright idea!!!!

Re: Drop in Happiness/Health/Hunger Points Still Affecting Accounts

We have 4 US, 1 Asian, & 1 European account in our family. The Asian & European accounts are fine, but all of the US accounts are affected. All of our pets hunger levels are in the 20s and falling fast. I'm amazed at how much food it requires to get each pet into at least the 70s. It's taking around 5 recipe foods to fill the pets. The farm fresh food is nice but the benefit is minimal when you need to fill the pets as much as we do. UPDATE: 2 of our US accounts are rebounding on their own. Last night the pets hunger levels were in the 20-30s. This morning they are in the 70s on 1 account and in the 40s for another account. Very strange! Better get back to cooking.

I can't get on every day because of homework, chores, and other stuff like that!! Why can't Ganz think of people before themselves!?
