I was ready to go off and buy some book boxes until I decided to test something else out: the cost to store each item. The Sky Blue Book Box does store 6 items and only takes up one square for the cost of 95kc or 15.83kc per item. The Rattan Toy Box stores 8 items and takes up 2 squares for the cost of 100kc or 12.5kc per item, a difference of 3.3kc per item. You would have to get the price of the Book Box down to 75kc in order to make the cost of storage/item the same. In the long run, the Rattan Toy Box will be cheaper if you have lots to store. If you only have a few items you are not losing too much by buying the Sky Blue Book Box. So much for the math.

It's still your choice. Have fun choosing.

One part of the calculation you are missing is the cost of a room. If you bought a small room it would cost much less and hold almost as much as a large if you used the sky blue box.

the advantage of the sky blue box is storing 6 items per square foot. so you would store 12 items in 2 blocks as opposed to 8, so it is more efficient space wise

If you have a bunch to store it is worth it however, because the extra per item would not go over the amount of a new room once you have filled the other with rattan boxes Just a thought

ahh, so true, so true. and the question lives on...what is the best storage option? now here's a question for the calculus and advanced geometry bunch... when going to retrieve and place items in storage you must be able alk up to them, so wich is the best way to arrange the boxes in a room? (evil laugh...graph paper anyone?)

I prefer the pyramid method myself, at least it looks pretty.

You can leave one row between the rows of boxes and one square at the end so your pet has a walkway between the aisles. That's what I did.

I have used some of the ideas from Lotamoxie's garden thread -- and making it like quilting patterns or mazes. Just to be different!

No games right now?
