Default Value of Trading Cards Series 1

Once Series 2 comes out, and Series 1 is retired, what will happen to the value of Series 1 trading cards? Will they go up or down? Would it be a wise investment to buy a bunch of series 1 trading cards for when they retire?

Hmm... I don't know that is a really good question, though.

I think it all depends on what prizes they offer with the series 2 cards if the prizes are different then the first series then there might be a demand for series one however I found getting the trading and gameroom furniture difficult not to mention how hard the grand prizes are. You can get some pretty good deals on ebay though I found someone right before Christmas who was selling them for $40. a box and offered free shipping.

I would be a little worried doing that. What if after a certain point you can't enter the series 1 codes - then all the stash is pretty much worthless. There was a thread here some time back about that, but I don't recall how far back it was. I'm sure the codes from series 1 will have to be valid for some time because there are a lot still floating around, but I would still be a little nervous buying up a bunch of them.

If I were going to buy some, I would buy them and put the codes in right away, and just keep the items stored for trading later on, just to be on the safe side. I have heard there will be new themes, but am not sure the old ones will be retired. The game room theme preview had a fridge and stove in it that hasn't shown up yet, so who knows...
