I totaly agree with you Tyrannus Rex. No matter what Ganz does there seems to be unhappy people. To have more prizes would be nice but we take what we get. Ganz is coming out with more holiday themes to do like at halloween and Chistmas. I vote for more frequent things to do throught out the year.

I wish there were more items, repeated ones or new ones. I would be fine with just 3 if it meant Ganz could get it right and have them fly every 6 minutes or be like the click and win (like snow white). I was hoping the 3 items was going to solve the problems of slow flakes. It is hard had to get excited to get the 3 items when it takes upwords of 2 hours sitting and waiting for flakes.

Upon reviewing the quanity of previous years' prizes and checking out their pics on WIKI, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that Ganz is only giving out 3 prizes. A whole week of clicking to get a few hundred duplicates of the same 3 items?

In my opinion Ganz is being inexcusably cheap to their customers. Many of us have spent well upwards of $1K or $2K over the course of the year in Webkinz merchandise, virtual eStore items, and Deluxe memberships. How deeply could it possibly hurt their bottom line to throw in a few extra prizes and make this year's Fest as spectacular as in prior years?

Regarding their intent to make additional winter items available at the eStore, that's great but it's not the same. In no way, shape or form does handing over your credit card for even the most spectacular of virtual items come anywhere close to matching the rush of excitement of you get clicking on a snowflake as it drifts across your screen! And the poor kids who have waited and waited for Winterfest aren't able to hand over credit cards. They can only click on snowflakes for THE SAME 3 BORING PRIZES ALL WEEK LONG....

It's my opinion that having a larger prize line-up will not detract from their eStore sales. I believe people will choose to either spend or not spend at the eStore based on the merits of the items available and their prior shopping habits. Simply put, those who routinely shop at the eStore will buy Ganz' winter items and those who don't eStore shop will not be forced into it simply because Ganz decided to be cheap and reduce the number of Winterfest prizes. I do foresee the possibility of certain individuals deliberately not buying the eStore winter items out of disappointment and anger over the cutback of click-to-win prizes.

If Ganz finds themeselves ill prepared for this year's event as some WI members have suggested, a very simple remedy is to repeat some of the items from prior years which are already designed and easily accessible.

3 prizes? ONLY 3 PRIZES?? C'mon, Ganz. You're a better company than that and you know that your devout customers deserve better.

They ARE being cheap.
They are starting to care less about the customers and start to worry about money. I missed WinterFest 2009, so this deeply disappoints me.

I never did much enjoy the fact there were so many food items. I am super happy about the red toque hat, & I love that potted icicle thing too! So far, my odds are way better than before. Sure, I would love to see other neat wintery things, but, since Ganz FINALLY made my dream come true FERRET, I am gonna cut them A WHOLE LOTTA slack, & just be happy & merry about the the snowflakes that I DO manage to catch!

STARTING to care less about people and more about $??

I think Ganz' first priority has ALWAYS been money. Even though they are a business, I think they take it to the extreme.

I really like the Webkinz site, but I don't see myself buying more Webkinz items when my account expires. There are plenty of free websites out there. Sorry Ganz.

I totally agree with allthatshimmers, Ganz is quite cheap sometimes. Nowadays, to have the"complete" webkinz experience, you have to buy this and that, and if you don't, your experience on webkinz is . I would enjoy some reapeats from last year, instead of having hundreds of duplicates of the same 3 items. A blizzard would be nice, too.

Well, you could sell them in the W-Shop for a bunch of money, or, better yet, you could trade them for something totally different! We always have options!

I agree with Tyrannus Rex. I only joined WW in May of last year, but I have been very pleased with the experience. The 3 prizes in conjunction with all of the other events are fine with me. I loved trick or treating and fall fest and the Christmas gifts. I have also enjoyed my deluxe membership, the new pets and W Shop themes that have been introduced. In my opinion, the positives of WW far outweigh the negatives.

Default Re: How Sad... Only Three Winterfest Items This Year

I didn't read all the posts in this thread and if someone has said this I apologize for repeating it. I am kind of glad there are fewer items. Snowflakes were very difficult for us to catch last year and we did not get some items. With only three items, we are almost guaranteed to obtain one of each item. Just logging in daily to do the daily activities and gardening almost assures at least one snowflake a day. For those children and their parents that cannot sit at a computer for an entire week trying to get an elusive item through elusive snowflakes this is a much fairer way for all WW players to enjoy the special event. I think Ganz has learned somethings by listening to their consumers. The Christmas activities were such a pleasure for us compared to the ghosts at Halloween. Mr. Moo is a joy for my DD in contrast to Doug who is hard for us to get due to limited time on WW. I think the slow or lack of falling leaves taught them to loosen up a little with fewer items that most players can obtain for winter.

Granted, I realize that there are still multiple glitches than can be quite irking at times and they continue to add new things when old ones are not yet fixed, but I think we should give Ganz some slack. Look at those poor souls who were called in Christmas day to fix the programming of the Christmas gifts. I think sometimes we forget that WW is meant for children who often have short attention spans. Having new activities and games keeps them interested and looking for more. Just look at the positives such as not having to stress because you don't yet have a rug or google sculpture, no aching hiney from sitting for hours waiting, three great new items that look awesome, a fun fest for your family to enjoy instead of stress over, etc.

Sorry, I did not intend to be this long and I am officially off of my soap box.

Happy Snow Days!

I wish they would have repeated some of the items. I only caught a small number of rugs last year and I have use for them in several rooms in my house... I was hoping to catch a few more this year. Who would have thought they would make something new just for use in one year and not repeat it. I see no good reason for them to not use a few items from last year.

I feel sad for everyone who is having this year be their first Winterfest.
