Collecting flowers from friends vs. strangers

I have one main account that I have had for about 4 or 5 years now. Because I am Gifted and trade through the Gift Exchange, my phone is full of contacts of people I consider friends. Most of these people I have traded with and so have had conversations with and I feel like I kind of know them. After all, they are all fellow Webkinz Insiders.

I just recently opened a new account just so I could collect duplicate prizes when they are only awarded once per day per account. This account had no friends on it.

When the flower sending activity started, I wanted to win the gazebo on both accounts, so on the new account, I took advantage of the option to make myself available to new friends and every day I sent out requests for the maximum number of friends. Then I started requesting and sending flowers. I though that my odds of receiving flowers would be better on my first account, since I had formed cyber relationships with these people on WI. I didn't know how responsive the new contacts would be on my new account, since I had no idea who these people were and they did not know me.

I am so pleasantly surprised that my new friends are just as responsive in accepting requests and in sending flowers as my good old WI friends. My new account has just 5 fewer flowers than my old account, and I attribute that to the few days it took me to set up a list of new friends.

What do you all think of my experience?

cool! I dont normally add people other then my friends, but will you add me? I have seen you posting and responded to things you have said, and so i feel sorta like i know you. my user name is the same for webkinz as it is here.... pikachu7777 please add me! it would mean alot! good luck getting all of the flowers you need!!! hope to hear from you soon! oh, and your experience is cool! i never would have thought that that would work....... maybe you will get to know your new "friends"! how did you add them? the friend finder?

Congrats, I'm glad that you've had a good experience with the Friend Finder in WW. With several new accounts, I tried to use it for challenges but did not get a lots of FR's back. I found it much easier to contact fellow WI members who were on my older account's friends lists and see if I could friend them instead.

It's great when strangers help each other out. I don't make friends with people until I take time to get to know them. So I personally wouldn't add people just to do the flowers event. That's just me though.
