| | Unanswered: Zum buddies in Clubhouse cause slowdown
I often go to Trading Room of the Clubhouse and noticed that occasionally, my Flash slows down to a crawl as the browser consumes 80-90% of CPU power.
While Flash is a deadly resource hog (thanks, Adobe!), this particular effect was only observed after I hang out in the Trading room for a while (a few minutes), and only when at least one Webkinz in the room (myself including) has a Zum buddy. Apparently, something in Zum animation sends Flash into CPU-feeding frenzy. The effect disappears by itself with time, but will repeat if I stay in the Trading room. It is worth noting that if I am the only one having a Zum buddy, removing the buddy eliminates the problem!
The effect was consistently observed on both MSIE and Firefox. My home computer is a modern, well-maintained and regularly-upgraded machine so it is likely not a version issue. Dragging items around the dock is also slowed down, which means it is not a connection problem, either.
