That is right on the money, Justin.

Wikipedia requires that all articles be written in a encyclopedic fashion. Informing one of the history and achievements of the company/person/event, etc.
It is a very cool site, but I would never take it "as is" - anyone can edit the articles and it's very important that you do fact finding and background research on it before you accept it as truth!
The Advertisement would have def. gotten it deleted.. Maybe if you would like to work a wikipedia page in for WI, it would be best to review Mugglenet (which is a great article from what I've read) and others and get a feel for it. - Make sure you do not copy any of the whole format, Plagiarism won't be accepted either.
Then Perhaps it would be best to pre-write, review, edit, and have it all ready to go before you post it. . Think of it like a History Essay... it takes a ton of work to start a page on wikipedia and familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations they have instated. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:CSD
good luck, whatever you choose to do! If any of you do decide to pursue it, I'd be more then happy to offer advice/help where I can.
