Question Unanswered: why do you red flag posts?

I was wondering why do you red flag posts? do you do it because it's in the wrong section, because it's not following the rules, because it's good information that could be on the front page, something else, or all of there reasons? I want to know why you red flag posts! please!

I thought you only flagged rude or inappropriate posts. But it very well might be those reasons too. I wouldn't try it without knowing though.

The most common reason is because it is not following the rules, people being rude etc. Yo've pretty much listed everything.

I usually don't flag it if it's the wrong section because sometimes that's debateable, but you're right. If someone is being offencive or if you think someone found something new. Basically it's just to get the attention of an administrator. It could be for a good or a bad post.

If a user said something that was not allowed, such as an inappropiate statement or personal information, you should flag it. If you responded to the post, it could break out into a fight, so it's best to let the mods deal with it. This only applies for threads in the wrong section. If someone posts, let's say, that they have two accounts, flag the post to let the mods know.

You can also flag posts if it really needs to get the mods attention, which doesn't nessacarily need to be a bad thing. If someone needs to tell the staff something urgent, flag it.

You can flag them if someone is doing something against the rules or if it's big news and you want to notify a mod that might otherwise overlook it.

Hmmm... well everyone pretty much covered it, but if you wanted to know how it works then you just click on the flag on the post you want them to see and a box pops up where you can state why you're flagging it. It gets sent to the mods and admins who are working at that time. I think if you still don't understand, you should just PM a mod or admin. The ones who are on now are listed at the bottom of the forum in red and blue. Good luck!

I flag posts that break the rules, or if someone needs help from a mod, I flag it so that they will see it and I usually type this person is in need of some help form a mod or admin, or something like that.

When you Red Flag a post, you also call it REPORTING the post.

You ONLY report posts if a member is being rude to another member, for swearing words, inappropriate content.

We do this because there are younger kids on this site who might get in trouble for reading posts like that.
