A spoiler is a way to hide text. When people click on Show, they can see whatever you write in the spoiler.
Spoiler: show
Here is an example

To make a spoiler, you can't do it in Quick Replies, you have to actually hit reply. There should be a little box like this Click the image to open in full size.. Type whatever you want to be in the spoiler, highlight it, then click the little black box. You can also type
brackets, [] with the word SPOILER in between them where you start your spoiler and /SPOILER where it ends. Hope this helps but if you have more questions, just ask. I will try to help.

I had that same questio yesterday! But luckily someone helped me so I will help you. You put one in your post by typing a message, highlighting it, then clicking that button (the blue one at the top) that says spoiler. I'm not quite sure why its called "Spoiler" because nobody answered that part of my question...

To me "spoiler" means more than hiding text in a post. It includes the reason why it is hidden.

My first experience with a "spoiler" was when someone wanted to hide something from general viewing but, by the reader's choice, others could view it. An example of this would be when a new Harry Potter book came out, some people on the Harry Potter board would get to buy the book and read it before other people. They would post how much they liked or didn't like the book and then put in a "spoiler" the reason why they did or didn't like it. They could even give examples of the plot of the book. In the "spoiler" these examples were hidden from the people who wanted to read the book first before talking about it but people who had read the book, or those who just didn't care could read these posts. This way the book wasn't "spoiled" for the reader of the posts.

What I see on is not a real "spoiler" as I know it but a fun way of enticing people to come visit your post to see what you have to say. Use it and enjoy it!
