Okay, well it's still about the marketing appeal.
Just like the "Glamour Gecko": it wouldn't sound as catchy if it was just called "Pink Gecko".
And the "Fire Fawn" wouldn't have sounded as good if it was just called the "Red Fawn".
Perhaps some people would like the other versions better but Ganz wants to make their plushies sound appealing to a vast majority of users. It's sort of like when candy stores name their lollipop flavors "Super Atomic Giggly Grape" instead of just "Grape". I'm not totally sure if Super Atomic Giggly Grape exists but if it does I want to buy it, thus shines the genius of marketing appeal.

Also, there was probably nothing better to name it. The name fits, though.
The PSI is a high chair. That's strange, isn't it? It doesn't really connect with the pet.

Exactly what I'm thinking

It is just a white dog with blue-ish gray-ish spots on its eye, paw and tail????
Probably the colors, there might be a dog resembling it that is a water dog maybe. I still wonder that too though.

Perhaps the colors on it,
Since they look like a misty/foggy color?
But what i don't get is, why its PSI is a high chair?
Cause if someone said that ganz is making a "misty puppy" I would think its PSI would be like a "misty mystical fountain" or something like that xD

Exactly
Sometimes the name doesn't appeal to me either, but it is all about wanting to make customers interested in the product. Even now we are discussing the puppy, which is advertising lol.
I understand that sometimes the name doesn't seem perfect, but they want people to buy their product. Like the charcoal cat instead of grey cat, and cotton candy bunny instead of blue, pink and white rabbit. If you don't like the name they give it, you could always call it something else (: I call the chocolate lab the brown lab, and it doesn't really make a difference. And I agree, the light blue spotted puppy sounds cute, although it is a bit of a mouthful

exactly. they want to have people's money, and if a product sounds good, even if it is not good quality (the pets are, i was just using an example) people will buy it.

i really like the pet, just not the psi. what does it have to do with the pet again?
