Rep, is a form of a thank you letter. You really want rep. Look a the green boxes under the rainbow stars under her avvie. That is how many rep she has. At first, they are dark green then when you get all of the dark green boxes you then get then lime green boxes. I how that is helpful!
Rep stands for 'Reputation', which is a way to show users they did something helpful or nice. To give reputation to people, you click the thumbs up, then give a friendly message why you are giving them Rep!
The small green boxes under your stars represent how many times you were given reputation, each time you get 100 messages you get another box!
Everyone pretty much said it all...I think of rep as a little virtual *fuzzy hug*. You make someone smile, chances are they will give you a reputation point. Sometimes it's given for being helpful, but other times for being supportive or making a great thread or writing an awesome story or something.
It's just to say "thank you" or if you're helpful or kind. The more rep you get, the more rep boxes you get. The rep box shows how kind/helpful you are, so other people will think, "Wow, they must be really nice or helpful, look how many boxes they have!"
